So, anyway, welcome back 1950's. Sorry to hear about the problems you've been having. As for Lees-Melou, your caveat about him when he signed has proven to be right on the mark. He's had some good performances eg. against Everton, and some non-descript ones. It may be that Smith is getting more from him than DF was able to.
Even worse, the Tories make up the rules, and don't bother following it themselves, and constantly break the law. Welcome back anyway, hope you're better after having Covid. Some people get lucky, and it's not too bad, but others aren't so lucky.
I am sorry that my original post caused so much unpleasantness when it was only intended to explain my long absence from the forum. All I will say is that one of the main reasons we made the decision to live permanently in France was the racial abuse my wife received over the years in England because she wasn't pure white which increased because of the anti European sentiment brought about by the brexit referendum. Quite clearly this has not subsided. Out of interest we would have paid less tax overall had we agreed to live in the UK as required by the new British rules but as it is we now pay less tax in the UK than we did before and a lot more in France.
B* The people that voted for Brexit were mainly people in England and Wales (Scotland and NI voted to remain, as did Norwich I believe). I'm interested in how you own property in China? You must have lived there for a year, as is the law? When I lived there I had a bank account (necessary for being paid) - and believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that you can own up to one property after a year there and have the right to sell it too. By the way, your attack on 1950s Canary is out of line. Comparing your own covid flu-like symptoms with someone who has suffered the full effects of the virus? We're all built differently, but have some humility when you come across someone whose ideas/experiences don't meet with your agenda. Thanks DD
I didn't attack 1950s for being sick that's absurd, he's recovered and hopefully he doesn't get sick again . I was comparing the French and British demands for entry . From my understanding it's impossible to enter France or participate in society without a never ending series of injections . If like 1950s you comply to that and you still get very sick despite being fully vaccinated. Then it's not about people's health and more about forcing him to take his 4th and 5th shots just to leave the country or go out to a restaurant or participate in French society with his covid passport. Frightening Anyway it wasn't me that started this divisive discussion and I won't be commenting further .
Here's what you wrote mate: "Nothing personal but it's annoying having people that don't want to live in the UK ****ting on the UK and people demanding everyone gets boosted complaining they are sick with covid . I had it and it was like flu , it may well have been flu ." ho hum...false equivalence. I won't be commenting further either. OTBC
Glad you're back with us 1950s and have no lingering after effects of covid I was looking at the 18th place point scorers since the 20 team Premier League and put it together in a table: Not sure if the 28 point outlier is dragging the current average of the third decade of a 20 team top flight, but most 18th place teams manage about 35 points. Interestingly Everton are sitting on 19, but since they beat us at the end of September they have only picked up 6 points and they have all been against the top sides.
I had flu symptoms I didn't bother getting tested as I have less than 1% chance of dying even if I had the dreaded Covid, it may well have just been flu . What is your point ? France would demand that I inject my 12 year old son 3 times to accompany me to France and goons with guns (French police ) would demand we carry our papers to enter a restaurant, public transport or go to the cinema . This is all normal and rational apparently, but filling in a form to get a visa to enter the UK is Government overreach. Whatever , I'm guilty of wrongthink never mind. This discussion has nothing to do with football especially as the UK has scrapped covid passes for sporting events and I'm grateful we aren't following the lead of France Germany Austria and Ursula von der Leyen's European Union that demands covid passports to move around the Shengen zone. I have family in Spain and until they lift the restrictions I won't be taking my children to visit as there is no way I'm subjecting them to a life of injections every 6 months for the rest of their lives .
'Technically', in a Johnsonian sense perhaps, you didn't start this discussion, but you are definitely the person who chose to make it divisive. Also, China Canary and you seem to have a very different idea about the laws regarding owning property in China and opening a bank account there. Are you being economical with the actualité, or are you saying that he is? Regarding your claim that you are a victim of 'wrongthink' here, the sight of anti-woke Brexiters playing the martyr whilst calling anyone they don't agree with 'snowflakes' is rather unedifying. Hypocrisy, or what?
With my renal failure compounded with (unrelated) respiratory and cardio-vascular problems, and a severely impaired immune system as a result of ongoing medications, there's a very good chance I'd have been hospitalised at best, or, worst case scenario in the morgue by now if it were not for my double vaccinations plus booster. I have no qualms about people of any age doing whatever is available to protect themselves [plus friends, family and workmates in close proximity] from this hideous global virus. Anybody who says they won't have it because "I don't like needles" needs to grow a pair and look at the bigger picture - and think about the more vulnerable members of society for just a few seconds of their life. Good to see you back, 1950, and sounds like your ordeal was infinitely worse than mine - and I felt like dogshit for at least two weeks. Glad you're through the worst of it.
So I'm a liar now ? You need to pay social security for 5 years and live there minimum 5 years to buy a property in China . That isn't my situation and I'm not getting into why I have property in China . You can't visit China on a 3 month Visa and open a bank account. It's not straightforward for foreigners to open a bank account at all. Being anti covid passport and someone that lives in England and voted to leave the EUROPEAN UNION puts you on a level with Satan himself by the reaction on here. I'm glad 1950s is on the mend and reiterated it several times , but him being forced to take 3 shots to leave France or go to a restaurant is a nonsense if he can still get very sick from it and spread it . If anyone else wants to have a pop and twist my words I'm not interested .
It's one year of residency, either working or studying there. Not five. Proof of residency is used in the purchase process. Technically, it's a 70 year leasehold, absolute maximum.
It's one year of residency, either working or studying there. Not five. Proof of residency is used in the purchase process. Technically, it's a 70 year leasehold, absolute maximum. In Beijing it's 5 with minimum 5 years paying social security. So that explains how you can both be right. Good. Let's move on.
Yes please, let's move on. If we need to discuss social security and house purchases in China, perhaps we need a dedicated thread. Let's get back to football
In the official language of Newspeak, the word crimethink or wrong think describes the intellectual actions of a person who entertains and holds politically unacceptable thoughts; thus the government of the Party controls the speech, the actions, and the thoughts of the citizens of Oceania Questioning the official covid vaccine narrative is tantamount to wrongthink it has nothing to do with your edited made up rant about woke snowflakes unedifying or hypocrisy. The French government forcing people to take a minimum of 3 shots to enter France even though a fully vaccinated person can still spread it and get seriously ill is straight out of a George Orwell story. "Regarding your claim that you are a victim of 'wrongthink' here, the sight of anti-woke Brexiters playing the martyr whilst calling anyone they don't agree with 'snowflakes' is rather unedifying. Hypocrisy, or what?" Not sure why your cage was rattled and decided to call me a liar and **** stir . Or care
I'll put the mod hat on for once, any further continuation of this conversation (on this thread or another) will be getting deleted. I don't care who is right or wrong, we're fundamentally a football forum and whilst we have a fairly tolerant approach to off-topic conversation, I'm not having this thread derailed and people falling out over off-topic crap. Given the topic at hand is at most relevant to 2-3 people, I suggest you start a private message thread about it if you wish to continue. PM me if you have a problem with this.
