I think everyone was to some degree, even though there were already warning signs of him struggling with fitness/ weight and professionalism in the past. I've got zero time for him now, likewise Dele and Lo Celso, hopefully there's a purchase option, some reports say there is some don't. Pros and cons to the Valencia loan. They're great at developing technical players which Gil certainly is but the fact it will be 6 or 18 months of La Liga football and not Premier League football is a tad annoying. I agree though that the lad's a huge talent, I have massive hopes for him. I don't think Sarr will be an option for next season though, he's been in and out of Metz's starting XI this season and will almost certainly go on loan again. We're also heavily stacked in the midfield department - even with the possible permanent departures of Ndombele, Lo Celso and Dele in the summer.
If Spurs can bring in one more signing tomorrow who would you like guys ? RWB, CF, LCB or creative mid ?
CF It wrecked us 2 years ago and would do again this season if Kane gets a bad injury. Lucas and Bergwijn simply don't contribute enough goals and Kulusevski will take a while to settle in. Meanwhile Son hasn't been in good form most of the season. Our defence has improved but is far from watertight. I don't trust us to keep many clean sheets this season so goals are gold.
This. Although it’s impossible to get a ST anywhere near the quality of Kane, there simply has to be a back up option for the club.
For me it’s that or RWB. I think having effective width on each side will open games up a lot more for us and allow other players to have space to hurt opponents.
Or even a LCB, it’s worrying that Ben Davies is such an important part of the defence. Nothing against him but he’s a very limited player, yet if he gets injured then it really weakens the whole back line.
I'd want a striker, but the less areas of weakness we have, the better we'll do. So, if we can get suitable quality for other areas that need strengthening, we should do so.
There’s been reports (from low level sources) that we’re still interested in Douglas Luiz and Bissouma… this despite the fact Bentancur is more or less a Spurs player. Are we just trying to stock up on defensively minded midfielders? But anyway, if these reports have any modicum of truth, begs the question why we’re not putting the money that we would for them on Bissouma’s teammate… a certain RWB who’s literally perfect for Conte’s system.
Ajax have loaned in Mohamed Ihatteran from Juve, which presumably means their interest in Bergwijn's been deferred a window or two ...actually, it has to be said the terms of Ihatteran's loan are weird, as it;s a 12-month loan...in January
Bissouma is a bit more than a DM to be fair, I think he’s a wonderful player. I worry that he might be a Greenwood though, still on bail isn’t he?
Italian press love getting vids of players at airports, we saw this with Gollini and Romero too, lol.
He’s a very good player but I just don’t see the need for him, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Bentancur and Winks all in the same squad. I don’t think he’d represent a monumental upgrade on what we have. Lamptey on the other hand… that guy massively takes up a notch at RWB.
Alex Cross (journalist) said that it is thought that Tanner actually priced himself out of a deal with his demands. If true... wow... what a mug
Romano’s given a here we go to Gil’s Valencia loan. No extension clause though, happy with that, 6 months and hopefully a lot of games with them then back with us to then reassess.
Can't get the camera crew in until the morning ...and the worst part is I'm not entirely sure I'm joking, given how all top flight clubs do a full media blitz to announce a new signing
Can’t they just say it’s done like Liverpool have with Diaz even though he’s playing for Colombia and won’t be at Anfield til midweek.
Ousmane Dembele going to PSG by the sounds of it. Imagine a club transfers being so bad run that they need to loan out two of their most expensive signings ever in the same window.
