And now it's being briefed that he hasn't made any decision whatsoever and he spoke to Tampa this afternoon to let them known he was still undecided as yet... :emoticon-0112-wonde

I wonder if he's a bit annoyed that a journalist stole his thunder and tweeted it (kind of understandable) or whether he is truly undecided.

Would've been nice for him to just get to announce it himself, if this really is it.

I hope he doesn't retire yet because I want to see him play in person. He's such an iconic player, before I even started the following the NFL I'd heard of Tom Brady and I guess for a lot of people he might be the only NFL player they know. Plus he is pretty much the GOAT, so it'd be awesome to see him in the flesh. I think based on the level he was playing at last season he could easily come back next season if he wanted. I think Brees was playing at a lower level in his final season.

Brees, Rivers, both Manning's all were way on the decline when they retired. Brady proved he's still at an elite level at 44. Hence why he's the GOAT. Well, until Mahomes is the same age anyway.

I doubt any of the young QBs will get anywhere near playing til mid 40s. Game has changed a lot and the skill sets required have completely changed.

Have to love the comparison between when Brady was drafted and now as well

Now I know why I dislike Nadal. It is his over the top behaviour when he wins key points. He is 35 acting like a big kid of 17! Andy Murray is in the same bracket. I much prefer the coolness of say an Arthur Ashe, a Bjorn Borg, a Roger Federer and a Stefan Edberg. These guys gave exemplary conduct on court. To quote Tom, you can stick Nadal right up your "rusty." Please, please win Medvedev!!!!

His conduct in its own way is as bad as Djolovic and McEnroe with his demonic behaviour. It is awful to see.

But then he's broken as he served for the match! What a final this is.

Tbf, DK is a receiver and they're always gonna be more athletic than quarterbacks but I get your point. A lot of hype nowadays is about mobile quarterbacks who can rush for many yards. It's why Kirk Cousins is disliked by many Vikings fans, because he's more of a traditional Tom Brady like quarterback who is a great passer but not much of a rusher, which can be effective if you've got a good o-line. We do not though sadly.

Vikings don't need a great rushing QB. Cousins just had a really strong season - 4th I think in the QB ratings. Vikings have many problems - he isn't one. Well not on the field anyway. His salary is another matter.

Cousins absolutely is a problem, but not the biggest one. He is an Ok QB but nothing more and earning **** loads. Unfortunately QBs get paid extortionate amounts unless you draft them and the Vikings have never drafted a franchise QB in something like 50 years.

He had his best season as a Viking last year and the team didn’t reach the playoffs, which says it all really. Hopefully a new coach can improve him as he is almost certainly going to be there next season.

Cousins biggest strength is probably his passing accuracy and his ability to throw deep. I think his style suits Jefferson who is turning into a superstar rather quickly. It's rather annoying the QB class is just awful in the next draft. A number 12 pick could have got us a good QB in this year's draft for example. We can't really trade Cousins unless we get a QB in return. As we saw in GB Mannion is not good enough to be anything other than backup and Mond hasn't got the mentality yet to play in the NFL. I suspect we'll give Cousins an extension and play around with the salary terms so we can get under the cap next season.

It remains to be seen what a new coach does with Cousins. The Vikings hve been a run first team for about 20 years since they had Peterson and then Cook. It’s why Diggs kicked off and wanted out, it’s why there are rumours Jefferson wants out.

Hopefully they get in an offence minded coach who doesn’t run Cook up the middle 25 times a game and actually really uses the receivers they have. If Irv Smith isn’t ****ed from his injury they have one of the best QB-RB-WR-WR-TE combos around, they just need to actually use them

I think they would definitely be open to trading cousins if they could. New coach, new GM, new start. They would need a first round pick for him and find a team stupid enough to take on his contract, which seems unlikely.

Priority number 1 for the new coach is to ditch the run first game. You'd be ****ing insane not to throw the ball to Jefferson as many times as possible without limiting his effectiveness.

Wait tom, you're a Vikings fan too?

But saintmagic, the reason we missed the playoffs was because our defence has once again been trash. Time after time Cousins put us in a position to win but the defence immediately choked. The Lions game being the most horrible example. Plus there are was the missed field goal against the Cardinals and cook's fumble vs the Bengals... Also losing Thielen was a big loss for us seeing as he's our main RedZone threat. Not to mention some of Zimmer's coaching such as his use of time outs, and the predicable run, run, pass calls and also the dick move of calling 4 running plays and kneeling when JJ needed 17 yards to break Moss' season record.

Not saying Kirk is perfect and there are times he plays badly such as the Browns game and the Bears game but he's far from the biggest issue. The biggest problem with Kirk is the salary cap but hopefully he restructures, and like Tom says, if we trade him we'll need to trade or sign a QB in free agency (but I don't know who is due to become a free agent this off season) I don't want to see Mannion starting ever again.

Having calmed down after my stupid outburst, I have to admit that Nadal is a magnificent player to watch, not only for his athleticism which is astonishing, but also for his sublime skills and abiltiy to craft openngs. Even if Number 1 had been present at the tournament, I don't think numero uno would have won it.

As I said to you Tom in another post, this has been the weekend of record breaking 35 year olds.

Ref called to look at monitor by VAR in Senegal game. Penalty cancelled. It is so weird now I know they have to change their mind.
