Hello Cheeky - now, that's a very happy memory, I'd long forgotten. A comic writer par excellence and a lovely bloke. It's hard to imagine working for Bob Hope and Billy Connolly, but he did. Thanks for all those laughs. RIP
Some physical weirdness going on. My eyesight focus has slowly been deteriorating over the past decade (as you expect with age) so glasses are necessary. Today I have switched on the computer, and bloody hell, I am seeing things with far better focus than for years. It has so freaked me out, I have spent ages checking everything on the computer to see if I have inadvertently increased font sizes etc, but no, everything is as was. I would be interested to hear from those whose eyesight have fallen to the ravages of time whether they ever had a period of "last hurrah" in comparison to their vision at their prime, and then things go downhill very rapidly thereafter.
No. Type 2 diabetes you think ?? Tis as if the reset switch has been hit on my mid/long field vision (short field still needs specs) .
Not a doctor obviously but I had a limited similar experience where my optician said it was caused by extreme dryness in my eyes, which temporarily corrected my short-sightedness at the cost of my actual eye health. If you’re spending a lot of time in environments where your eyes are drying out recently (perhaps behavioural change due to lockdowns etc?) then there might be something in it. But see a professional, obviously.
The Mrs friend who is a nurse was having coffee so I asked her , her reaction to every thing is blood tests or urine infection 9 times out of ten she's right , if she had her way everyone would have a test twice a year
RIP Des Drummond. Jet-heeled winger who ran 10.85 for the 100m when he competed in Superstars. But it was the pace over 20-30m, which really counted.
I don't think I've ever seen a game in which the ref gave four penalties and they were all to one side. Makes it even stranger that they were the away team: Looks like they were all correct, to me. Quite surprising. Keeper should be shot. Taker went the same way every time and he got it wrong for the lot.
Obviously a cut & paste job, but the idea of Roy Keane stepping in as Leader of the Oppposition at PMQs has great appeal
7 members of staff out of 25 off school with covid last week...we've had 13 kids out in the past two weeks...Mrs rcl caught it on my birthday 4 weeks ago... Yesterday I started coughing my lungs up, freezing my nuts off and some ****er is drilling their way out of my head. Not ****ing happy Thank God my eldest moved out this month and my youngest is at uni and Mrs RCL can't get it again (she was pretty tough and is still recovering). Oh...and thank full I had all me jabs
Gillingham are in a terrible mess, this defeat has been coming, it really could have been 9 or 10. I saw nothing to dispute in any of the penalties, rash decisions by defenders who are struggling and GK who has only recently arrived, though he was at Doncaster for the 1st half of the season and they are the club fighting with Gills to finish bottom. Manager was sacked about 3 weeks ago and no one seems keen to take up the reigns and it is highly likely the Gills best player will join Bolton tomorrow. League 2 is almost guaranteed, gates gave dwindled and chairman is currently as unpopular as he has ever been, and lets be honest he has never been well liked. I am not sure where the club goes from here, but a Southend style fall through league 2 cannot be ruled at this point.
I remember it being discussed on the Prem board. Chairman going after critical fans and banning them for protesting. Utter scumbag. I hope they manage to replace him, even if they do go down. Sad to see.
