There is a thread for this game on the Charlton forum if anyone is interested. Just thought it was odd we didn't have one. Presumably disheartened after Saturday?
3- 2 to wycombe or 4 nil to charlton,i have given up trying to predict what wycombe team will turn up on the day ,a great win or a heavy loss.
I think its going to be a tight 2-1 win tonight but a drubbing by wednesday at the weekend, maybe 4-1.
I have to admit Rocky, 4-0 was my first thought, being realistic. But then, as you say, it depends which team turns up tonight. Predicted attendance for tonight anyone? 2,870.
Spot on Rocky. No idea which Wycombe will turn up tonight. So inconsistent. I would try and re-create the approach to the Sheff Utd and Preston games with a 4-5-1 and Harris and Grant given licence to attack the full backs. The minimum we need from the games this week are 2 big performances and hopefully that'll be good enough for some points too.
wandermagic i agree,i would take 4 out of six right now.i just hope we get a good performance like you say,a point tonight would be a good result for us but i would like 3 . i hope harris gets his chance and if we are losing in the second half i would love to see ibe given a go rather than benyon.i hope they have a slow full back, another one for harris to roast with his pace like he did against preston.
I would be more than happy to get 3 points from the next 3 games a point a game will do nicely but not holding out much hope for tonight but think we will take somthing from Saturday
Ah, how many will Charlton bring. Add that to my prediction, forgot about away fans. That will still leave me on the low side.
Well I'll be generous and say they will bring 1,000 so that ups my estimate to 3,870. I think that will be closer than your estimate of 6.000 Rocky. Anything over 4,935 and you win. Anything less, I win.
Att: 5,406. You win Rocky. I won't claim victory by adding another 400 Charlton fans to my estimate. (Probably wasn't 1400 away fans anyway). Hope the game was enjoyable, even though we lost.
just got back ron it looked like about 1500 odd charlton in the away end and they were noisy most of the game.we were unlucky with the first goal when a clever overhead kick crashed against the post only to come out to phillips who finished well.their second goal was pure class a superb finish from the corner of the box after a bad clearance by winfield.we just didnt compete in the first half and at half time i feared a drubbing was on the cards but we came out a different side and battled for the ball all over the pitch.beever was class again and took his goal well we had pressure on them late on but couldnt get the equaliser and charlton done just about enough to deserve the points.bradley wright phillips is a class act and was the difference between the 2 teams on the night.well done to charlton on their win and best of luck to them for the rest of the season.
The inconsistency you're talking about was there in abundance tonight - strewth, you were bad in that first half, but something pretty radical must have been said at half time because it looked like a different eleven players after the break. Friendly place, lovely ground - really enjoyed my first visit, despite the rain and parking at the top of a hill I thought I was going to need oxygen to get back up .
