the only positive to take from that debacle is that he may be sacked

That’s not a positive though. In any way. It’s a big negative. Not because I want him to stay, but a lot of the players signed because of the vision he sold. We have 2 days of the transfer window left.

I can’t see any positives at all.

Even that’s not a positive mate, cos it means the **** has hit the fan for our club. But I know what you mean.

i still see it as a positive that the management will have had enough and made a positive move to get someone better suited for the task Big Sam would be nice, if miracles could work

I still can’t get my head round these thrashings, a pub team probably wouldn’t lose 6-0 so something is definitely not right. I’ve always thought we are in a similar position to the mags. Most of these players are like turkeys waiting for their heads to be chopped of. Not the best scenario to get the best out of them.

We have been more than fair with LJ in my opinion, he cannot expect to not be criticised given his performance history with us. Snatched nothing from the jaws of victory last season, looking like it will be similar this time round with a number of embarrassing performances dotted about through the year to rub it in further.
All at league 1 level, pathetic really considering the only other time we dropped into this **** league we bounced straight back up without the so called backing of a “major league” spiv and then a billionaire.
Is the level of L1 football so much higher than back then? Or have we fallen so far the new owner has adopted a small time mentality and is happy enough watching this dross without acting to change our fortunes as soon as possible. Surely being involved with Marseille would mean he’s not happy with this? We are still waiting for evidence of this though because filling the squad with promising youngsters from top 4 clubs doesn’t seem to have improved our fortunes so far. Past performances against u23 premier league players in the cups shows that in a game of men against boys, men prevail regardless of how highly rated the boys are. Our last outing against a young premier league team was the worst as we also played boys against them but our boys were not as good as Arsenals.
There has to be a mix of experienced quality and young explosive highly rated talent. It’s not one or the other that ends in failure.

Well I’ve waited until this morning to comment as I was just to angry last night when I got home from the match. First the good stuff which won’t take to long great to catch up with old friends and bump into some old work acquaintances. Happy days. Magnificent support yet again the fans deserve so much better. That’s the good stuff out the way. The game itself was embarrassing from everyone at the football club. Not one player can claim anything positive from that performance. It was obvious very early on with exchanges between Doyle and Hoffman that things weren’t right. The back 4 were all over the place and some of Hoffmans kicking was atrocious putting defenders under pressure or gifting possession back to Bolton. The midfield was totally non existent and overrun again Neil and Embleton don’t work together, and Stewart was isolated up front on his own. How the manager and his assistants can stand and watch that 1st half go in at half time and not make changes is just beyond comprehension . Arrogance lack of tactical nous I just can’t understand it. We need a physical presence in midfield and another Broadhead to work alongside Stewart. As for Johnson I don’t think he will be sacked I think the end of the season will be when a decision is made on him. An important couple of days ahead in the transfer market with a couple of additions needed. Still annoyed but off out to walk the dogs and put yesterday behind me. Keep the faith lads and lasses. We move on to Doncaster.

he comes across to me as always thinks he is right, until its the interview after the match, but then never highlights the mistakes he did only what others made

This is the worry for me. We can lose games in this league as we hardly have an invincible squad. But professional players should not lose 6-0, ever. It is a simple case of pride in your professional status. I havent been as concernee as others. Pompey had the conditions. Sheff Wed are a side that arguably have better players. Rotherham the same. But yesterday was different in my eyes. At 3 you need to change as a player and coach. You have to stop them and get some sort of credibility in tbe game. Not sure why we arent able to but you have to worry at least a bit about the mentality and desire of the players, as.well as the ability of the coach to makes changes.

Big Sam has already said the wouldn’t come back. He wouldn’t come back to this division on a sensible wage certainty (personally I wouldn’t want him back)

Just a thought on yesterday. A manager set his team up wrong, and the players put in little to zero effort for 90 minutes. All rated as 0. As has been said, a pub team might have done better. But a team set up wrong with effort would do much better than without. Can’t be all on Johnson. (Agree he rightly shoulders a lot). Players looked like they thought it’d be easy!!

I think it’s because of bolton’s tactics. They like to play football so extra man in midfield.
I don’t necessarily think he’s wrong in thinking that way, but it was obvious that the conditions weren’t conducive to that game and Bolton changed. We (he) didn’t.

In games like this, he doesn’t seem to be able to change things quickly to counter an opposing team changing. Which is extremely worrying.

Just look at his interview after the game

Players under the bus and as much of his jargon as he could squeeze in, in some slimey attempt to seem intelligent. Nah **** off Lee.

I actually met him at the height of our first bad run and despite wanting him gone i gave him and his staff some encouragement they they'd turn it round. I wish I'd just let rip now. Another hopeless football personality has his 15 minutes at our club and we again are left with the pieces.

Bolton did not change, they started 3 at the back we started 4 according to Bennet, they had a plan from kick-off as we did, their plan worked ours did not, yet he stood idly by and watched a disaster enfold waiting far too long to act. Then he did what he always does, move Gooch, and shuffle the pack, he is hopeless at game management and time after time he has proved it, his judgement of players is also suspect and has been since he arrived, he also runs players into the ground until tiredness and long term injury is the inevitable outcome , I could go on, but I am sick of saying the same things over and over, I would love him to be successful and none of us have this conversation but I cant see it happening any time soon, sadly with or without him. A joint coaching TEAM might be the answer LJ unfettered is not, over to Speakman I think.
