They COULD work if lane blockages are identified straight away and the lane is closed. As it stands they are far too dangerous.
Some people are still clearly distorting the debate, about the comparison between flu and Covid, to suit their own agenda. I shared information, above, from the BMJ, that showed that deaths attributed to flu, as the primary cause of death, for the years 2018 & 2019, totalled 1598 and 1223 PER ANNUM. That doesn’t compare with the loss of life from Covid, which is matching those figures PER WEEK. Pneumonia is a completely different condition that can be caused by a multitude of ways, so adding deaths by pneumonia, to your argument, is just wrong.
You sound like a literal facist when you talk like this. This is the exact mindset I’ve been talking about. Comments like this are totally unacceptable to me. Its actually the same sort of mindset that hitler fostered. Same exact playbook. Yes that’s the extreme end of the spectrum, but it definitely applies. Coerced medical vaccinations, for covid, in young people is totally wrong. And it’s the covid authoritarians that are misrepresenting the data. There is still no answer on how many people died with/of covid. The data still shows 0 flu deaths this year which is beyond a joke. They are still covering up any mention of adverse effects - of which YES there are more than we are told. Until all of this data is more clear, I completely understand why young people are vaccine hesitant. And I support their rights to freedom of bodily integrity.
I think that's the first time I've been called a fascist, what a literal one is I've no idea. A Hitler playbook what sort of nonsense is that? Misrepresentation of data is the MO of the anti-vaxxers Alex Jones and Co. I'll continue to use the BMJ, Lancet, WHO and similar. No answer to to death rate? I'm sure there is tRY the ONS. Corona passes and testing are going to be a requirement for international travel and access to venues for a while. Quite how that is fascism or part of a Nazi playbook is beyond me.
You are advocating for people to lose their basic freedoms based on your need for them to have a medical procedure. If you can’t see why that is an issue, there’s no hope
I didn't pass my driving test until I was 28. 10 years of not being able to drive on my own. Those nazi bast..ds made a rule that said I could not be afforded that freedom, basically because I might be a danger to myself and or others.. ringing any bells?
Is it really a basic freedom to be able to enter a venue owned and operated by someone else? If it is a public building that is one thing I guess as your taxes go towards it …
Just re-written your post, from the opposite point of view. You are advocating for people to lose their lives based on your desire not to wear a mask, use Covid passes or have a jab. if you can’t see why that is an issue, there’s no hope.
The difference is that driving isn’t injecting you with a substance. My girlfriend’s cousin has life changing medical issues since the vaccine. Her blood platelets are permanently altered. She may no longer be able to have children. Like I said, I am vaccinated. And i am pro-vaccines. But forcing people to have medical procedures which may change their lives is abhorrent. The choice MUST be made by the individual, with all available data. This isn’t “anti-vaxx”. This isn’t a fringe view. This has always been my view. It’s why the Nuremberg Code was written
For you or me? Basic freedom to travel and have access to anywhere unvaccinated and without testing is that what you advocate? There is no hope. That's a very unfortunate and extremely rare complication I hope the outcome is positive. This isn't a misleading article but deals with risks and makes her point that the overall benefits of the vaccine in preventing COVID-19 outweigh the risks of side effects. https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/news/a...very-rare-cases-unusual-blood-clots-low-blood
It is rare. And it is unfortunate. And it’s also exactly why vaccine mandates are completely immoral and unethical. She is in her 20s. Covid would have posed her little to no risk. She essentially got vaccinated to protect those older than her. And now her life is potentially permanently altered. It’s called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia. This is why it isn’t the same as a driving license, or any other of the silly examples listed. This IS. a medical procedure. It IS something that may have negative consequences, as well as positive ones. Hence I say risk/reward via age has to be taken into account. The link you posted isn’t peer reviewed. The only conclusive data for all of the side effects will emerge over time. This is a new vaccine, and to label everyone as “anti-vaxx loony” for having minor doubts is totally unfair.
Did she get the vaccine due to mandates or the like? Or because she wanted to? Do you know? I’d suggest that if she lives in the U.K. and doesn’t work in some very specific fields it was most likely a choice as we have not really had hard mandates or passports at all. Indeed you could get into most places by showing negative tests. I’m not aware that we had anything like in the US where federal workers are being fired. Other than the looming NHS situation which hasn’t happened yet. But I haven’t been paying full attention since it hasn’t impacted me. My work doesn’t require it, can be done at home and I have decided not to deal with the faff of going overseas since this started. So I haven’t paid 100% attention to how the rules have varied. Also - given the position you are coming from I’d suggest saying “that article isn’t peer reviewed” to dismiss someone is not the route you want to be going down.
Why is it that Osvaldorama's posts on this thread immediately make me think of the Dunning-Krugger effect?
Can’t you get the jab at supermarkets in the USA? Doesn’t quite feel like a full on medical procedure to me in that context
I queued up at a pharmacy to be given my booster by a pharmacist. Qualified, yes. Medically qualified, no.
What does make me laugh though and not directed as Osvaldorama at all is that some people will happily go to a 'beautician' and get injected with bacterium Clostridium botulinum (aka Botox) in their face from someone who has zero medical knowledge, but won't take a jab in the arm from a qualified technician containing probably the most scrutinised substance in recent years .
Yeah I’m sure I spoke to someone from a dating app who mainly worked on all the admin and organisation side of a vaccine centre. But they were getting trained to give the jab as well. Definitely not a medical person
I know of at least one person who won’t allow himself to be injected with a vaccine of supposedly uncertain provenance, but some years ago was always happy to buy disco biscuits off strangers in clubs. That said, I do respect the right of individuals to make up their own minds what medicines they ingest.
