NEVER AGAIN are we EVER going to be able to taunt the gravy stained brigade with six in a row. Even if he takes us to the Champions League, I will always hate Lee Johnson for ruining this chant!
I can take defeat, but the manner of the defeats is what is bothering me. This is the 4th or 5th time we’ve been battered this season. Promotion chasing teams don’t crumble as easily as we do.
Don't want to get anybodies hopes up, and there are many many reasons why this might be, but normally the club would have some sort of interview with LJ up by now. Its 99% likely this is because he has decided not to do one. But there's a chance he's been asked not to, or the media guy has been asked to hold off - either for PR reasons or because they want a chat first...
he's done the local media (he has to). But not the club one. or at least if he has, they're holding off posting it. Either because they don't want the aggro / responses, or they've decided not to for other reasons.
Even if we get to the playoffs and even if we storm them, I have no confidence that our manager would be able to mix it in the Championship. With the squad he has, at this level, to churn out this sort of crap takes a certain amount of incompetence. Incompetence which would be exposed x100 when the majority of the teams will be better than us. He'd not last a half dozen games.
exactly this, we can all take a defeat and even expect a few as it is the nature of the game, but it is the fact we seem to go from one extreme (almost unplayable) to another (cannot play to save our lives) plus the heavy defeats and the fact they seem to be in 'runs'.
Doesn’t look or sound like a man who thinks he’s gone. Hopefully it’s his ego, but I don’t think it is.
Roker Report - Player ratings Ron-Thorben Hoffmann: 0/10 Six goals conceded from seven shots on target, just not good enough. Carl Winchester: 0/10 His early season form has completely deserted him, all over the place defensively and no threat going forward. Daniel Batth: 0/10 As if we weren’t losing bad enough at the time, Batth decides late on to try and top Santiago Vergini’s own goal from the hammering at Southampton. Callum Doyle: 0/10 Didn’t look comfortable from the off, Bolton closed him down early and he struggled throughout. Dennis Cirkin: 0/10 Thought he was doing OK in the first half, despite the score, but went missing in the second. Corry Evans: 0/10 Our most experienced player and captain, he should be the one to get hold of the team and sort them out. That didn’t happen. Dan Neil: 0/10 Comfortably his worst performance in a Sunderland shirt, nothing happened for him today. Lynden Gooch: 0/10 Couldn’t make anything happen from the left wing and then struggled at left back. Elliot Embleton: 0/10 Had a good effort on goal in the first half but not able to create anything of note. Leon Dajaku: 0/10 Anonymous today, didn’t get at his full back and like the rest of the attacking players, created nothing. Ross Stewart: 0/10 Too easily shackled by Bolton’s centre backs, had nothing to work with but far below his usual standard. Substitutes Jack Clarke: N/A Came on with his new team-mates having already given up the ghost, looked promising and can hopefully only improve from here. Alex Pritchard: N/A Team had already given up, even though Pritchard’s introduction was just after the 50th minute mark. Patrick Roberts: N/A Came on for Dajaku and had a chance to show his quick feet with one good run but no chance to make anything happen at that point. Man of the Match: 6,000 Sunderland fans. Obviously can’t give a man of the match after that performance, so rather than none at all I’ll give it to the fans. They turned up in their droves, to watch the team embarrass the badge.
To be fair, they have to shoulder at least some of the blame. He can tell them what to do and when to do it but he can't play the game for them.
