Not a chance he resigns. Managers don't resign any more. I think there's a better chance he's sacked. But even that feels unlikely. Should have happened in November. It's clear he's not right and has been for a while
20 minutes in and everyone could see that his plan to play a back 4 wasn't working, so he waits until 3-0 down to make any changes...and he kept a back 4 but added Gooch into the mix. Do we keep LJ and just plod on with this rollercoaster of form, pray that we get into the playoffs and hope there are no more batterings? Or do we take a gamble on a new manager, and hope to bring in some fresh ideas tactically? I know going up this season wasn't essential according to the club but bloody hell KLD must realise we will lose our best players and will have a massive rebuild on our hands if we fail to get promoted. I really believe a good manager would be top of the league with our squad.
I honestly don’t think I’ve ever disliked a manager as much as Johnson. Imagine getting into half time and thinking a change wasn’t required.
We had a big combative CH today and it made no dif. If LJ isn't sacked (and he won't be) then it makes me wonder what KLD is thinking. Sometimes you can be too loyal.
I've lost count of the amount of times that he's been out-thought by opposing managers. He really doesn't seem to understand the game, has only one tactic, and doesn't react to teams that outplay us. I'm sick of being hammered (not just beaten) 'cos he doesn't know what he's doing, and his arrogance is so obviously without any justification whatsoever
But I have, this last few weeks, been working on reverse psychology ever since I realised that a string of my predictions for us winning easily had bitten me on the arse. I'm now going to have to sit down and think of a new strategy. Oh, and the only thing I have to say about tonight's lottery numbers is - avoid 6
the most frustrating thing for me is my Wigan supporting mate is adamant they have gone to **** since Christmas, and have been quite lucky in games, especially against low opposition. Next month they play all teams from the top half and he's expecting beatings. This was there for the taking for us. And we've more than thrown it away. We've just kinda dropped it and forgotten about it.
He did it last season with his insistence on 2 in midfield. Every time we played a three we win well but he kept going back to a two and we kept losing. He constantly tries to be clever and misses the bloody obvious. Really wanted it to work for Johnson but this is a game too far for me.
i like what gooch can bring to the team, today he was certainly one that let everyone down, whether it was the position(s) he was asked to play again i have no idea but even when he did manage a cross it was badly hit. batth, strangely before the game started i was wondering how long afore he made a feck up as it is now traditional for our central defenders...good goal mind. dan neil, i know most of you love the lad with him being local but he really needs to be more involved in games, a couple of nice touches and the odd good pass is not going to keep the fans onside forever and i feel if he had been transfered in he would have had a few 'pelters' by now...embelton comes back from injury or being dropped and puts in a couple of near man of the match performances then slowly drops off until he gets left out again, needs to keep it going every game. right through the season i have noticed how when one of our players hits a ball out of defence it almost always ends up at the feet of one of the opposition players yet no matter who we play when they hoof a ball out it lands perfectly for one of their own and back they come at us, now is that just me and my red and white specs or is it a fact? our passing, either far too hard or that slow the opposition can close it down, bolton stopped our lads having any time on the ball today but we also kept shooting ourselves in the feet with our passing, sideways, backwards and hoof...this, i think is the part we fans are struggling to come to terms with as one week we press and hassle, winning the ball and passing our way around them then the next game we look so disjointed it as if we have had to call some favours in from lads we kind of know just to get 11 players on the pitch. one thing about defoe, if he watched that he will know that him being on the pitch would have made no difference at all as he would have been damned lucky to get a single clear cut chance...and while i certainly feel he will lift the squad and the fans, he is not the answer, i'm afraid. i said earlier i can't remember a single game where we played with a back four that we have played well, from reading the comments it seems our worst losses have been with a back four, i have no idea why LJ reverted to that today unless it was tactical but it soon became obvious it was not going to work yet he persisted right up until the second half, now after our last 'blip' i said i was borderline with LJ as i wanted to see improvements and i wanted to see our defensive faults looked at and in all honesty i think we did improve and we started to defend those balls into the box...today i watched a complete reversal of that, i honestly am sick of managerial merry go round but something HAS to change this time.
This has happened far too many times now. Im not gonna say ‘sack him now’ but I m gonna say I have no confidence he’s the right man, he absolutely isn’t medium to long term. There’s got to be better available. This isn’t one result this is yet another run of ropey performances and results. He isn’t good enough. Man for man we should be walking this league.
He didn't need a payoff with all the cash he'd banked from his Man Utd severance agreement and if he was sacked then it would look worse than him walking away
