Don't mind bumberside being back.....but please ditch fatty and swan, they are truly awful and so unprofessional
I reckon most people who can't get to the game and listen to it on Humberside like Burnsy, I certainly did don't mind him but that's just my opinion. In my opinion he is part of the furniture as far as City goes.
Whether you like Burnsey and Swanny commentary or not, this is a wonderful thing, which was only taken away by vindictive previous owners. You only have to see on other social media outlets, how much this means to many people who for one reason or another cannot get to games. What a breath of fresh air Acun is, I know at this stage, for the most part, it's just words, but I really think this guy means it. He is saying what many have said needs to be changed and be done and he is getting on and doing it. In a word or three, he gets it.
I think you have to understand many of the listeners are elderly, and maybe like Burnsey & Swanny's style. I don't mind them personally, though I don't listen to their commentary that often. They are not what I like as a commentary, but you can't suit everyone.
That's a good point, my mum used to listen to Burnsy and Swanny when they did commentaries, she didn't really understand football but she understood when goals were scored and she liked their company on the radio.
Exactly this. The show isn't for the football connoisseur but for the general fan, so what if it is light hearted sometimes, Burnsy handles the dickhead callers very well in my opinion, he is just good at engaging with people, Swanny well it is what it is but he maybe needs replacing for an old x City player like Hughes. Many hate Burnsy many love him. For me it is a big welcome back to the team.
I don't dislike Burnsey, I think he's good with the callers on local issues, I just don't think he's cut out for keeping people informed about events on the football pitch.
Tbf both Hughes and Meyler showed how to give co commentary well, especially Meyler who is almost a big a fan of us then we are. Swanny like him or loathe him acts as a sparring partner for Burnsy.
Burnsy and either Hughes or Meyler for me would be a great pairing because Burnsy can connect with the older listeners and the other one can talk real football and be on the nail with what's happening on the pitch. I go to the games anyway I listen on my way to the game and get quite entertained in the car on the way home with some of the calls.
I stopped my season ticket years ago due to family commitments but still went to plenty of games until the Allams drove me away but would listen to Burnsy when I could which kept me interested but with the lack of commentary my love of football was dwindling. The takeover has reignited that love and so glad the commentary and Burnsy are back. I'm not a fan of Swanny but commentary with Swanny is better than none. I must admit I can't be arsed with the phone ins and switch off a couple of mins after the final whistle. I hope to get to a few games soon
I think the ability to listen to an away commentary will be the main advantage - looking forward to that.
There are plenty of SKY and BBC football commentators and with worse side kicks that are ****e.... just saying... Burnsy and Swanny, like it or not, are apart fo HCAFC furniture...
I like the commentary. I’m pretty certain accessible to all commentary, regardless of presenters is better than no commentary at all. Just saying…
