Yeah, Feb & March could be very busy with the Newcastle fixture and potentially 2 FA cup games. Probably worth keeping him in case he is required.
I think Ralph has said, in the past, that Long and Walcott are very important for the dressing room and squad. When you have so many young players in the group you probably need a few veterans to help set examples in standards and effort and to show what can be achieved if you train correctly. If Long moves on a free, in the summer, he should get a better contract, which would be a fair reward for his years here and THAT goal.
I think we should let Long go to WBA, if only to see the elite big man little combination of Andy Carroll and Shane Long
If we need veterans in the squad it would be nice to have them be in roles such as goalkeeper and centre defence. For example an experienced partner to Salisu might have reigned him in during the spurs game It also would be justification to bring some in. We aren’t going to be replacing Long with another veteran as a fringe attacker. And within 2 years him an Walcott will be gone. So it seems like we will still be wanting some players like that based on that logic Unless it is Ralph speak for “we have those two on contracts and no one else will pay that so we need to justify it” I guess we will only know when we see how many “veterans” are in the squad at the start of the 23/24 season
Zouma came from Chelsea which isn't a ligue 1 side, Benrahma from Brentford, also not in Ligue 1, Diop IS from french football and is ****ing dogshit. Masuku came from Turkish football but can't even play football and Areola came from Fulham, which again, is not in Ligue 1.
Chelsea signed Zouma from Saint-Etienne, which is in France. Brentford signed Benrahma from Nice, also in France. Olympiacos, which is most definitely not located in Turkey, signed Masuaku from Valenciennes, which is in the very beating heart of France. And Areola didn't come from Fulham, you silly man, he's under contract with Paris Saint-Germain and has been for twelve years, and it doesn't get much more French than Paris. All of those players came from Ligue 1. That West Ham is a dumping ground for Ligue 1 players, I suppose, says it all about West Ham.
I didn't realise I was speaking to someone with poor comprehension skills, to most people the difference between 'French football' & 'French player' would be obvious.
All of those players are not merely French, they are French players who played French football in the French league for French teams. And now they're your players. And if the stench of Ligue 1 washes off as soon as they go abroad, then what's the problem?
A fairly obvious key-stroke error, a bit different from a comprehension bypass. But don't fret, I'll spell it correctly once I start seeing it on the West Ham team sheet come Feb.
funnily enough I hope that's true, because any deal for Broja means something going on behind the scenes with Rice.
