Allayahar is being signed as a striker I believe.

 

Premier league clubs willing to spend big money on him now suggests different. Anyway one of my pals who plays for City's u23s said he wouldn't be surprised if he had asked his agent that so I think he'll go. He's not a fan of the club he supports man utd.

 

He plays off the shoulder of a central striker though. He's considered a midfielder in the Iranian national team, his best position seems to be out wide.

 

It doesn't necessarily matter. Tymon wasn't good enough for his Stoke move when he went, but he got the security of a 5-year professional deal on presumably decent money when he was still an academy scholar with us. That difference is life-changing. I'm not saying I always agree with a financially motivated decision, but when it's a young player with all this potential who's still never had a big contract yet, he could lose it at all at any moment. He'd be absolutely mental not to want to go somewhere where he's getting £20k/week for 3-5 years.

 

15m is not big money for a PL club, it suggests they'd rather get him now and develop him themselves rather than buy him from us for 25-30m in a year or two.

KLP supports Man U? News to me, he was stood outside the ground cheering on the new signings in 14/15 as a 10 year old.

 

KLP would be on good money with us already, and I'm sure there'd be a contract extension on the table for him on even better money from the new owners. The difference between what we're offering and what Brentford would be offering in their wage structure would not be life changing.

 

If they sell KLP and its just Allayahar comi g in I do t see how we're stronger.

Looks like now Acun's interest in certain individuals is more than just theoretical then there are plenty deciding against coming.

I don't think he'll be on great money for us at all, and whatever the wage, he's only got 17 months on his contract. It's really not much long-term security and he's got the talent to earn much more.

Hopefully we can do as you suggest and offer him a competitive contract to stay a year or two more, by which time hopefully the club will have developed with him and we'll be looking at going to the PL together. But as I said earlier, I've no idea how realistic that actually is.

 

But I didn't say just have Allayhar coming in, I said bring in a central striker as well.

I would be staggered if Greaves, KLP, Honeyman and a few others haven't been sat down with new and improved contract offers, or aren't going to be given them in the coming weeks.

 

Nobody is on good money in footballing terms at our club, moving would likely see him earning 15/17k more per week

 

And when he turned us down we would have moved on to other targets. No competent club has a single target where if it doesn't work they sit out the rest of the window.

 

So what will they be on?

 

For what he's achieved, if he's on 4-5k a week I'd say that's decent money. For what his potential promises, I'm sure the club would be looking to bump that up to maybe twice that if not more.
