Of all the teams in the relegation zone, I would perhaps fancy Watford's chances of staying up the least. They just seem to have no potential to win games.

Not sure whether there will be any managerial sackings this season. I think that those who have retained their positions have done well

It's one of the (many) things that makes me laugh on the Everton fans forum GOT when some of their fans mention Ralph as an option to replace Benitez.

The idea that their fans/owner/board would put up with a couple of 9-0 results within a year without actually exploding in flames ???

"until the end of the season" is incredibly optimistic.

As much as I'd love Newcastle to go down, Watford really deserve to with their awful manager policy.

I am about as athiest as they come, but if Newcastle, Watford & Everton go down then I'll start believing <laugh>

That would be the ideal trio. Although I wouldn't be against Burnley rather than Watford, if it had to be so; after all these seasons, I'm bored of Burnley now.

    They’ve moved faster than Everton

I see Newcastle are struggling to get new players in. I am beginning to think, that all these world class talent are not interested in playing for Eddie Howe, afterall his record sucks since he became Newcastle manager. Fingers crossed all the the other teams around them can win enough games, to relegate them, oh and Everton can go too.

I read that Howe has told the owners that he doesn’t want players on enormous wages as it might cause dressing room unrest mid season. Allegedly explains why Coutinho didn’t move there

Odd that Villa are not concerned. And I assume that stance will be out of the window in the summer when they can try and rebuild their entire squad and what the current players think won’t matter as much

The Mirror is reporting that Newcastle are considering a bid for Jan Bednarek.
    Hopefully just paper talk.

Newcastle have been linked with every defender at the moment. Salisu, Bednarek, Diego Carlos, Tarkowski, Webster and likely a few more

Hmm, if the price is right I wouldn't be too concerned.

We would still need a replacement for squad purposes. Especially with covid still about

And as Newcastle are proving - decent CBs aren’t readily available

I saw something about Caleta-Car still being wanted by wolves but them not wanting to pay 20m. Surely Newcastle could stretch to that? Unless he is another who doesn’t want to go

The Diego Carlos thing is weird to me. Newcastle pulled the plug because they wanted 50m and their fans are furious … at Sevilla for taking the piss

I know it isn’t the oracle but transfermarkt values him at 40m. I’d have thought for a club with unlimited funds to pay and extra 10m to get a 40m rated defender who actually wanted to join would have been a no brainer? Unless it is how I suspect and higher fee automatically means higher agent fee, signing on fee and wages and quickly spirals out of control

If we sold Beddy to Newcastle for £40m and bought Caleta-Car for £20m, I know who would have got the better deal there. Particularly if we used the extra 20 to get Broja in permanently...

That is a big if. If they didn’t go to 50m for someone who is apparently rated at 40m then I don’t see them going to 40m for Bednarek

    But I agree
