Cos Man Utd clearly see Martial in their plans at some point in the future so by the sounds of it they want him back at the end of the season. Lingard on the other hand is not in their plans. They would prefer a fee for him now than see him leave in the summer for free of course. For this to happen a few things need to line up :- 1. The player has to want the move (he seems happy to come here) 2. Man Utd has to want to do business with the potential buying club. They aren't gonna do business with West Ham for example and strengthen their team and they seem hell bent on not wanting to do business with us.....unless it's at an inflated price. Seems like they are looking for a silly figure for the initial loan with the option to buy as they know that if we get relegated we will either send him back or he won't want to stay and play in the Championship at which point he will be a free agent.....so I they're trying to get as much as they can out of us for the loan to cover their arses. I bet the deal would be slightly different for someone like Leicester or Villa if they were to enquire as to his availabilty ! **** em, move on and take our saudi oil money elsewhere. That's how the window works... Clubs put in bids and ad the time runs out they start to accept them. It won't surprise me if newcastle have bids in for players nobody knows about. It's also not uncommon for buying clubs to make weak interest public
