The ambition is excellent. It's a shame about the bid being leaked. Standard procedure from selling party/player I guess, to try and smoke out a better offer if one is out there, before accepting what's on the table.
Their conduct is seriously lacking. Just a series of hopeful offers pinging about. Better than Ashley, of course, but the lack of success is really troubling. The decision not to move quickly with a DoF might have devastating consequences.

I think they’re just so new to this stuff, mistakes are being made. City have it completely nailed now, didn’t they sign someone recently completely out of the blue? We need someone in who can manage this transfer business far more effectively than Ghodoussi. Not sir what happened to Brown and McParland. Will we get there quick enough this window? I think we will make signings.
I dont get the negativity - we have 2 in, and they have chased hard Botman and Carlos who by all accounts wanted to come. Digne, no-one knows what went on there and there is maybe Lingard offer but who else have we actually bid on? There has been a lot of noise by journalists and twitter twats but that's just noise. So why the negativity?
Well I was pretty clear in the post above this that we don’t seem to be acting smart and the naivety perhaps of Ghodoussi is having a negative effect on our attempts to get players in. We seem to be just throwing out bids, offering clauses that are off putting and currently wildly unrealistic, whilst simultaneously- according to Howe - being unwilling to break a relatively low cost wage structure.
