Sarcasm has two faces in my opinion,,one can be funny but in a friendly way the other cutting and personal,,i personally dont take offence with either ( apart from fran calling me a closet pompey fan) but my point of thread was i dont think there is a need for the cutting remarks about individual players when they have a bad game,,dont know of any that would choose to play badly,,maybe im just old fashioned and grew up to believe manners cost nothing
You have a long memory..I don't even remember that. I humbly apologise...a cruel and wicked aspersion on a true Saints fan
And some say it's the highest firm of intelligence! For me sarcasm is right up there with pedantism; an excellent tool.
So far, in a hard month we're unbeaten with 5 points (positive spin) or have won only 1/3 games (for the pessimists amongst you). Nigel has reassessed the Reading game 'in the cold light of day' and feels better about it. Blue line, move on. It would be massive to win on Saturday and make this a good run of results, because we then go into an 'easier' month. I'm going for 2.0 to us (again) because this must be the right score sometime.
What gate are we expecting on Saturday? Middlesborough are still selling tickets on their site, but how important that is depends on how many we sent them. Mowbray says its always sunny at Southampton and that we have a lovely pitch. Says its the chance to test our credentials as league leaders. That sounds quite positive for us because we don't want teams treating us with so much respect that they close us down all the time. Middlesborough may give us room to play our natural game.
