Be more surprised to get than many out, tbh! Given our record of shifting dross

It’s the same every window, rumours of plenty in/out but against the clock.

I’d be amazed if 6 deals were done between now and next week considering Spurs history of negotiations

Yes and knowing us the five out will be Rodon, Gil, Tanganga, Clarke and White, all on loan.

I was more astounded at why we leave things so darn late every single window.

    vanderVaartitis.

The condition that makes people believe worldies can be signed late on in a window, despite it being an extreme rarity.

Ally Gold hits the nail on the head Re the Diaz rumours...

We've been here before, so many times over.

Morientes, Moutinho, Fernandes, Dybala, Ruben Dias, Grealish...

When it comes to big names, we routinely fail to push hard enough to get a deal over the line, miss out and end up plumping for a cheaper alternative who ultimately flops.

This one is a test of the club's resolve and a marker as to how seriously they intend to back the manager.

Gianluigi Longari reckons Barca have a verbal agreement to sign Kessie in the summer.

Would it be any surprise to anyone, if that happened?

We will always get outgunned in these situations by clubs with more money, paying more wages, who have a greater likelihood of winning trophies.

Maddest thing is right now we probably have more money to actually spend than Barca.

But the general gist I agree with.

I thought according to Italian news agencies that Spurs had agreed a deal with his representatives for him to join in the summer

Don’t think so, many reports claimed we’d be looking to get him on a pre-contract or even trying to sign him this January but as far as I remember we never actually agreed anything with him.

Just like Juve are too broke to sign Vlahovic...

Reported €75m fee with €7m NET salary, crazy money. But him, Mbappe and Haaland are the only sure things in the transfer market and you pay a price for surety! And it won’t look crazy when you lay out the trophies he’ll win there, in the end.

I do think January was a chance to get him, even if it meant paying a premium price (£20million-£30million). Once the summer comes then the competition to get anyone half decent on a free becomes so much harder

It’s also convincing the guy to leave and give up a shot at a Scudetto and the big signing on fee that comes to a player when they go on a free. If AC Milan weren’t having such a good season it would be an easier sell.
