I'd take him stood outside Greggs on the Green holding up a steak bake. Love JD me.

It was the case, there were a couple of other issues, I think his agent thought we were desperate for him and didn't realise we were looking at different options, I do think had he signed straight away things may have turned out different

Better get that concourse open now imagine Jemaine coming off the bench with 15 mins to go with a heroes welcome and 40,000 there vs Doncaster ! win 11 draw 4 lose 3 very doable 7 home 4 away, come on, with that attacking force 90 + goals and 91 points. wigan win the league with 98 points us 2nd !. Rotherham etc fall away. i want 49,000 vs Rotherham i will be buying someone a free ticket for that one if i can.

Don't forget to factor in shorts crap decision making, and total inability to run a football club.

Aye, but spend a grand and put a new engine in and you might sell it for 2.5k instead of just sending it for scrap

But did he make any decisions? Or did he leave it up to the people running the club? Doubt we'll ever really find out. Anyways we look a more professional outfit now

The Chronicle run a very efficient operation in getting people to engage with their online content. Think of the extra followers they’ve just picked up.

TBF they absolutely went there ends when I said it was still ongoing and likely on here last week. Got called all sorts even though I don't post on there anymore.

    They are a strange bunch.

Respect to you mate.....but all I'm saying is - if we do get a CM...and another two CF's....and one of those is the choice of the Board, then LJ has to get on with the job in hand.

I have faith in LJ.....However, I beleive that if Defoe signs.....then it's all about how LJ, all and us support him!

Signing JD could prove a coup for all and sundry as long as the manager cannot be expected to indulge him , his playing time has to be to benefit the team not the management team and the fans , I think he would be beneficial to have around the team and mentoring the younger players . In fairness he has always looked after himself fitness wise and would be an excellent impact substitute if you were looking for inspiration and a goal - could you imagine the opposition thinking NOW what the hell do we do here . The lift to the fans could and should be inspiring but he has to earn his place at all times !!!

I have reservations about how he'd fit in, but none of us know whether he still has his pace and his touch. Assuming he hasn't lost too much then he could absolutely be an asset. Stick him on for last 20 mins in any of our last 4 games and he's taking some of those chances that we missed

Aye, for some reason you’re not overly popular on there. No idea what it is you’re meant to have done like.

There are a few who used to continually have a pop. Was strange. Even in the face of facts, timestamps of posts that I made, they wouldnt have it. They were allowed to spoil threads with weak mods and I couldn't be arsed.

For example, I clearly nailed by colours to the mast with the Defoe thing before LJ press conference and what's happened since. Same people over there will still literally say I didn't or make something up.

I don't get 'if he fits in'. If he comes, it will have been the club has laid out their plans. If he likes it and the money is not far off then I'm sure he'd love to come back. As for the fitting in, the lad has played at top level for nearly all of his career, he is a deadly finisher and if we stick him (for arguments sake) playing 2 up front he'll do the business. Defenders will be c**ping themselves if they know that they have him to contend with.

I know if he were to sign for another L1 outfit, we'll be c**ping ourselves. I hope it's true, I really do.
