Jaden Williams got both to put us 2-0 up at the break. Alfie Devine added a third before they got one back from the spot. Charlie Sayers restored the three goal lead with his second goal since joining. Thomas Bloxham added a couple more in back-to-back minutes to truly kill it off.
Started the stronger team. We’ve also fielded a strong side too, thought a few wouldn’t feature due to being linked with loans/ potential loans yet Scarlett, Devine, Clarke, White, Bowden amongst others are in the XI.
Scarlett and Devine can't go on loan this season as neither will be 18 before the window closes Clarke's been linked with Sunderland over the weekend, while Bowden's expected to go back out to a club which isn't a burning trainwreck like Oldham are this season - while ***an Walcott certainly needs a loan, given his loan to Dundee last season was ended due to a pretty nasty injury IIRC
Quite enjoying this game. Started out a bit unstructured and end-to-end but we’ve grown into it a bit this half I feel. They’ve had a couple chances on the break. Harvey White looks head and shoulders the best player on the pitch IMO, lovely left foot as we know and always seems to find space and time. And just as I type that, Everton score. Looked a decent hit too.
I could be wrong, I just swear we’ve sent Kane/ Townsend/ Mason etc out before when they were 17. Though that’s years back so I could be wrong on their ages at the time and/ or different rulings.
I thought Bowden’s been our best player, been tidy in possession and should’ve had an assist. We’ve not gotten the wide players in the game anywhere near enough, despite the fact Clarke’s been in good form. Scarlett’s been quite starved for service, not the first time I’ve said that this season! Wouldn’t mind seeing Sayers on at LB, Lavinier’s not been bad but it’s not his natural side.
Sayers been scoring a few too as well I think? Can’t lie I don’t follow the youth teams as closely as I could but his is a name is see on the Twitter after matches recently.
I'm a bit surprised we're not playing 3 at the back. Surely we should have the same system throughout the club
Gotta get Sayers on. Both Lavinier and Santiago have fluffed crossing the ball on the left hand side as they’re both right footed. Had two good opportunities to knock in crosses but wasted by players who have to cut back onto their right foot.
