From what I can gather so far it looks like the US and NATO wouldn’t put troops on the ground, but would supply arms to Ukraine and cut all diplomatic and financial ties to Russia. I say this with very little understanding though, just my take on the news.

How all of Europe would handle the accompanying gas shortage though I have no idea.

Would have thought there would be one hell of a mass deployment to all Ukraine, Belarus and Russian borders though which we would probably be very involved in.

Sitting back and letting Russia continue its slow imperial expansion wouldn't be a great move either...

I agree with loading - I think though that far from BJ trying to use it as a distraction the govt are trying to sit back and not get dragged in too much to it. They have given short range weapons for defence, that is all.

We'll see how it pans out, but the world is a safer place now that the orange one isn't in charge in the US.

Well with the orange one we would have known what the US would have done - absolutely nothing

Russia would have known it to. I guess they aren’t completely sure what they will do right now

But we are getting dragged in, unilaterally.
France and Germany are staying well clear of it. America have had talks.
It just makes me think that Johnson is looking for a way to distract from his problems, now including an Islamophobia claim, whilst trying to look strong, internationally.
History tells us that UK PMs like a bit of blood and thunder to boost their ratings.
    Thatcher and the Falklands.
Blair and Iraq and Afghanistan. Backfired on him.
    Cameron bombed Libya
    May bombed Syria
Tends to get the juices of the flag shaggers flowing.
If not for the islamophobia claim, the news bulletin, I have just watched, would have led with the Ukraine/Russia issue, yet not a single word about the motorway blockages in Kent.

There is a big big difference between Russia and all those countries you mentioned in context of other PMs. I assume you know what it is?

It absolutely beggars belief that Sue Gray is questioning the police over this, but that the police themselves are completely uninterested in conducting any investigation, when they were happy to hand out huge fines to members of the public for similar activities.

Or were they instructed not to investigate?
    Wouldn’t surprise me.

They were instructed by Cressida Dick, who wants a damehood more than she wants to investigate crime.

But will we get to see the report?
As I understand it, the person who decides what we see is, checks notes, is the person who has most to lose. Johnson.

Thats Baroness Sir Dame Cressida Dick MBE CBE OBE BTEC to us plebs.

I agree it’s amazing how Police can give ‘damning evidence’ to a political enquiry, when the MET couldn’t investigate due to ‘lack of evidence’.

They’ll have to create some new honours at this rate.
