Always funny when teams like Spurs or Arsenal go on a little run of winning games against the lower half of the table and suddenly everyone is talking about how they're making progress. Then they meet the likes of City, Chelsea or Us and get hammered and then its all back to doom and gloom.
Yeah I said this before we played arsenal when everyone in media was creaming over them going 10 unbeaten in the league. I listed the positions of the teams they played and think it was 2 team in top half which average position of about 14/15th
How is that not a penalty. Skipp rugby tackles him to the floor and somehow ref gave a foul the other way?!! Then var doesn’t even check it… ffs such **** refs
Well our luck is in as we are now 10 ahead of 4th and 11 from West ham with game in hand. Spurs lose for the 3rd time to Chelsea in a couple weeks and that's them away as well. 48 points so 7 wins more for 4th and it's done. Or in other words win half the remaining games only . Let's go try win 3 cups Who knows maybe city will draw a few in the mean time but we are looking decent for 2nd place though we need a lot of improvement to stem the tide of self inflicted goals
Got to be Grealish. He was abundantly clear its want with that much or good enough for Man City. Did Man City seriously go all out to get him and Kane together? Lukaku was overpriced too but there was a glimmer of hope (from their perspective) that he'd improve them.
We used to be in that position not that long ago... probably will be again once Klopp calls it a day too.
The Grealish love in and hype at the euros too. People were desperate for him every game like we were bringing on Messi ffs.
It's was definitely over hyped but I understand the fans demand for him in the euros, ge was the only English player that tried to make something happen, the only one that would get you to sit up when he got the ball. TBF, Sterling, Kane, Rice, Phillip's, etc were all over hyped so ge wasn't along there either.
For England he was creative and in decent form for villa so made sense. He just wasn’t needed for city. They already had players in that position and he doesn’t add anything they didn’t already have
I wouldnt mind but literally all he does is stop, fall over, rinse and repeat. Like, there's no question there's talent there but there's lot of players as good as him. His off field antics and general attitude that a free is better than creating stuff means he simply doesn't improve city one iota. City are de Bruyne. Take him.out and the system gets less effective but people like da silva and foden can give similar movement. I know people call city the best side in Europe but I really don't see them winning the cl.
Foden's problem is he needs to decide now if he's a party boy or a serious baller. Grealish is hardly the best company to keep either and having those two and say greenwood and you've a bit of a nightmare in the England camp if one leads the other off on one. I really don't know why guardiola thought grealish with his attitude was 100mil right for him. Surely he could be 2 top players who were not English for that.
Doesn’t matter does it. If it doesn’t work will just move him on or use him as a squad player and go spend another 200m on Haaland and another player and see if they work better
New loan rules coming up. They are another fifa fudge. Maximum 6 players are going to be on loan out and 6 players in. Under 21 players and "club-trained" players are exempt apparently. This seemingly will affect some clubs but I am not quite sure who. Even looking at Chelsea as the consistent prime offenders in this regard. They have 21 on loan including bakayoko, drinkwater, Emerson, rahman and batshasyi I fail to see how these rules would actually prevent clubs stockpiling talent. It might force chelsea to actually part with a few shockingly poor buys that they've just been loaning and loaning but I doubt it will stop them buying and buying and laughing at ffp
Probably The thing is nobody seems to pushed to join city and they have football directors that want 23/24 years olds and don't go buy wildly like chelsea. If anything city's structures make grealish buy look totally out of the norm. That said they have a history of buying English like sterling at High prices so perhaps they bought for that as much as anything
100% Although us Liverpool fans might be biased; Foden always performs like he's the love child of Pele & Maradona when he plays against us!
