Sam celebrated after keeping us up.
Di Canio and Johnson celebrated for winning a match! In Johnsons case he celebrated pulling a goal back against Arsenal as if we’d just completed an injury time comback in the champions league!

Well I posted a long time ago on RTG tounge in cheek, before KLD took over that we could do with Jeff Bezos buying the club.
    Quite a few disagreed.

    As for the Newcastle owners.
    It's a no from me thanks ;)

Well we are a league one team playing a very good premier League side.
Personally I like the fact he shows some passion.

If Embo had shown half the ability he had earlier in the season with those set pieces he would have been a strong contender for MoM as much as I love Dan ( that chip over the top just before our goal was a champagne moment only he is capable of) , but Embo plays a variety of "sly" passes using angles only he can see and is also great to watch, its great to have those two in the team , and we can now afford it having some real defenders at the back with more on the way . Happy days.

That's the thing. We are a league one team, and have been for three and a half seasons.

Some, including this individual, appear unable to fully assimilate that fact. As if to accept it is embarrassing in some way. It isn't. It's just a fact.

By the way, that goal was the best of the night, and clearly the product of practice. Anyone not happy at a goal like that, at a place like that, should be taking up indoor bowling.

Well I’ve been following Sunderland nearly 50 years and in all that time I never knew just how opposed we were to the Saudis human rights record. It’s only been apparent the last 6 months or so!

Disappointing to be in league 1 but the fans have nothing to be embarrassed about. Wasn't our fault we are here.

In fact It's heartening to see so many still supporting.

You mean it's never been a talking point until they took over our neighboring Muppets ? ;)

So what your assimilating to, (magesque like) is, we're all jealous of their situation and Protest at their takeover due to us secretly coveting it ?

If you'd be ok with them owning us then fine. But you seem to think everyone else would be. And your wrong ;)

For one thing, why should an exception to murder, barbarism, torture and all the other well documented Saudi atrocities normally be mentioned on a football message board?

It is perfectly reasonable for normal people, with a moral compass to express their opinions on this matter when a deeply sinister regime have taken control of a local team.

You may have no problem with this, but most do. Especially as it happens, as most of the charges levelled against them are actually things that are legal there and about which they often boast.

For another, it is neither here nor there if people have come late to realising the medieval intolerance of Saudi Arabia. The light is on now for those who didn't know.

To be fair on a footy forum, human rights of a particular county don't tend to be a hot topic of conversation.

They only came about as our nearest rivals sold their sold for a few quid.

Maybe being a realistic person you can LJ isn't doing a bad job, I wobbled a bit on our bad run, but am honest to enough to admit I was hasty, maybe you could look again and re-evaluate your opinion?

I think Barth and Doyle could be a great match. Barth to basically command the area and do the basic defending, ie stop the attackers and then let Doyle to take the ball forward and do his stuff

Hmm, following Sunderland 50 years. 2 young boys at the academy, profile says 32 years old?

Perhaps a black and white squirrel like creature that emits a foul smell?

    Realist man,
Why would we start a crusade against the Saudis or show our distaste when they were removed from our direct lives? I personally abhor the purchase of silverware, and have a severe distaste for Chelsea who bought their success. I don't like Man City for the same reason. I think NUFC have gone a step further and thrown their morals into the dustbin - ie they are trying to buy titles with blood money. Thats the real distasteful bit. I know I would have chucked my support (not love, but support) for SAFC had we done something similar.
I rarely get drawn into arguments or debates such as pessimist/optimist/ realist, however I can sy one thing which is true. Negative people are a drain on others. Negative people take the life out of hope and achievement. Negative people prevent others from succeeding.
For the sake of your two sons who have a dream of being professional footballers - stop being a realist and dare to dream a little!
