I'm no expert but not sure how it can be sorted until end of season. and then not sure how that works considering the concerts.
Absolutely horrible. No matter how much they try to patch it up, it's ****ed after the warm up nevermind the game. Major investment needed (I'm sure it will be though)
Confuses me cos historically pitch has generally been decent. Dunno what we’ve changed but it’s clearly been a pigs lug of a job. Seen better park pitches.
Can't remember what thread it was but I posted this a little while back. This is the type of pitch LJ wants...
Palace and Leicester always have ****ing magic pitches. Leicester stadium is a similar design to ours so we should maybe get on the phone to them
And Leicester a planning another tier on one of their stands so must have a plan to maintain the quality of their pitch
I’m the same as you mate but they need to do something! RE concerts, they’re in June I think so when they’re done they’ve got 6 weeks or so to relay it, they’ll be no home friendlies this year
Without question. We’ve had a decent pitch for years after the extension went up then suddenly it’s trash? It’s absolutely that pair of half wits and their penny pinching. I’m sure we get it sorted after the concerts
Think I read somewhere that we've got the exact same pitches at the academy and they're immaculate because they get plenty of light, I'm not sure if it was a budget decision or just a bad one to use that grass type at the SoL. Either way I think we're stuck with it until the end of the season.
Think that's just about all they can do but it doesn't seem to be doing much. Maybe leave it on for longer? I dunno.
They are the same lights they have had for donkeys years. There must be better lighting technology out there now
Could have sworn I read somewhere that the pitch at the SOL was relaid in the summer, pictures were posted at the time I think. Have I misinterpreted the report I read and it was just the Academy pitches that were done?
I thought I read somewhere that Donald and Co had either sold the machines or not used them to save on the leccy bill. At this time of year the grass doesn't grow much anyway - too cold. Flooding the pitch with water certainly wouldn't help. The Desso pitch is a 5-6 week installation project - according to that video. That should be plenty of time after the Elton John gig on the 19th June. I once saw Elton John at a works do - he was ****e
Not sure mate I'm hazy on it. I suppose they could have relaid all the pitches at the same time in the summer.
Agree however, not sure why they put back the big investment into a full new one. Needs to happen in the summer. Home fixtures are spread ok over next month. Should be able to carry out some fixing for now.
