There's an interesting article in the Guardian about internet 'supporters'. In my opinion many of these people have nothing invested in 'their club' so have nothing to lose by whinging continually. Criticising the club is one thing but there are those 'realists' who spend much of their time attacking anyone who shows the slightest optimism. It's easy for them because they have nothing to lose, even forum bans won't step them because they just come back under another name and start again. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...tballs-future-so-should-clubs-start-listening
Cracking video on Twitter of Callum Doyle giving his shirt to a young lad in the crowd, after the game
This is our 4th season in 3rd tier, the only time this has ever happened in our 150 year history. We have a budget bigger than anyone else in this league so with that comes pressure for the man in charge and rightly so. Denis smith gambled his job on getting us up at first attempt and did so without the song and dance we get from Johnson. We had 32k there yesterday let’s not pretend that our fans are at fault for this mess we are in.
How about those ‘optimists’ who spend their time attacking those ‘realists’? It cuts both ways. Is the fan who looks through rose tinted glasses a better fan than someone who takes an objective viewpoint? By the way regardless which outlook you have expressing it on a forum makes no difference whatsoever to the outcome on a Saturday.
We spent £1m on Cirkin. I don’t think the rest of the league combined have spent that much on transfers.
I honestly dont think Johnson can win with some. There seems to be always something and for some they seem to wait for their chance to jump on him. I dont mind criticism and challenging but to me it seems some dont look objectively at what he does. He is far from perfect but we are in league 1 for crying out loud. I honestly dont know what people expect. He is a level above what we have been used to, in terms of style of play, in my opinion. If we really are digging him out for celebrating in front of the fans, after beating a team that thumped us 4 earlier in the season, and that have strangely become a bit of a rival in league 1, then it is a sad state of affairs.
So what's our budget, simple question ... ... and what's the second biggest. You're the one who wants facts, what are your's.
Never a more hypocritical statement written. Why is an “optimist” not a “realist”? I hate pessimism. But I accept opinions. What I don’t accept is that I’m any less realistic than someone who is a pessimist. So I don’t attack “realists”, I will shout down anyone who tells me I’m not realistic because I’m an optimist. You appear to be one of those reading that statement. You literally use the term “realist” instead of pessimist. Making your “it cuts both ways” comment absolutely hypocritical
Most manager go onto the pitch these days after the game. They are slapping shoulders and shaking hands and so on. Not really sure when all this started, but it seems to happen every game you watch now, when once it would only ever happen at really big moments. Not keen myself, but now they almost all do it. And, once they are on the pitch, they can hardly fail to acknowledge the crowd. That's all that's happening here. Speaking of pitch, that mess the players are obliged to try and play football on is horrific. It's a miracle we have such a good home record playing on it.
Spot on! Why people have to constantly focus in the negatives instead of the positives is beyond me. There are a number of fans at all clubs that have completely forgotten the meaning of the word 'support' and much prefer the word 'criticise'
Portsmouth were quite ungracious when they beat us at Fratton Park, this is just a F**K Y*U from Johnson ... ... oh, and we went joint top so 30 seconds of celebrating with happy fans, no big deal.
Pessimists believe they're more realistic than optimists and are continually claiming to be the most realistic. Optimists don't claim to be realists even when they're right. Every season, in the PL, the 'realists' would say we were going down and were only right once ... .... the optimists were only wrong once. So who was being more realistic
Ok then we’ve spent £1m on a player I’d wager the rest of league combined haven’t spent that on players this season. It doesn’t take a genius to work it out from there.
We exacted revenge for a really bad beating down at Portsmouth which would be really sweet for the manager and the players . Still think that game should not have been played due to the state of the pitch , the referee should have been hauled in front of the various governing authorities for an explanation as to why he thought the game should proceed.
