Reliably informed that he played against Southampton today. Seen playing in highlights and missing a sitter.

    Great example of multitasking!

This is funny, but sadly McCann didn’t say it, it’s a Mourinho quote that someone posted for a joke.

I have to say the level of commitment after only playing a big game on Wednesday was astounding. I really thought only 3 days between the 2 games would take its toll, particularly in the 2nd half. None of it, truly outstanding performance by the whole team.

Also, great credit to McCann, who did tweak things at halftime, which had the desired effect.

Really hard to pick out a player who as MOTM, other than Baxter, after a bit of a scare at the beginning, was exceptional. The back 3 was immense, to shackle Solanke and Co and keeping another clean sheet was brilliant.

After suffering COVID and injury at the start of his time with us, Longman has really come on and is an integral part of this team now.

All the others ran their blood to water for the cause, and we as supporters cannot ask more than that!

To come away with 6 points from those 2 games and 2 clean sheets is beyond me and most people's expectations, with a couple of good signings, this group can really push on up the table.

Your last point was quite funny, I was needing a leak before the end of the game but didn't want to go until the game finished. When 9 minutes of extra time came up I was in near desperation mode, and even though it was touch and gone I managed to wait until the final whistle.

Note to one's self, don't drink too many beers during the game.

From that thread ... Neil Dawson has for me nailed it. Exactly what I was thinking about AFCB at the end of yesterday afternoon!
So much quality in that side, but.

Fans will put up with highly processed over coached football if it gets results they won’t though when it doesn’t. Time to become more natural and let the players weave some of their own patterns and get the ball forward quicker. The division had sussed us. #afcb

Like watching a remake of 'The Alamo'.

But it's the end result, that counts.

Comments from my Son in Law who went with me yesterday.
Before the game; Who is that school kid wearing 11?
During the last 20 minutes: These are a fit team, still got plenty of pace, look at Eaves go. (Eaves sprinted back 40 yards and turned and sprinted forward at about 85mins)
After the game: Great game of proper football.

    He supports Southampton.
