I think Simon Hooper and his team handled the game well, nice of VAR to help also. I was sure Stuart was going to be red carded! Good subbing by Ralph.
I've said after a previous game that this Saints team is a work in progress and I think in the past few weeks we are seeing what they are capable of. If they can get some consistency then they can really achieve something.
Agreed, think technically they are a good team.. one or two upgrades in key positions and we'll be top 8..
Apparently Grealish was waiting for Romeu in the tunnel after the game. Good decision to keep them apart other Romeu would have done Grealish in easy
Apparently we have conceded the 3rd most goals from set pieces this season. Surprising as I don’t recall that many (and assume most will he corners rather than the high line free kicks)
Graeme Souness choking on his words, as he praises us for having a go and being a team he enjoys watching.
It gets more and more interesting to watch the cries of "Ralph out" turn to mere whimpers after each game. Clearly doing an incredible job for us, something I think will become even more evident should he receive any sort of financial backing under the new ownership
Surely that is a joke? Waiting for him for what? It wasn’t even Romeu who fouled him. Jack went an confronted him first and he turned around and walked away. You know, like a sensible adult
Just got back. Still ****ing buzzing! All I could think of in the car on way home was that there is real buzz and positive vibe in and around St Mary's these days and it makes such a difference. That bond between the fans and the players that has been missing for so long (before Covid hit) is back and it creates a great atmosphere and the players love playing in front of the fans rather than fear it. It's been a long time since I heard any real sustained groans or cursing of the players. This was why I was confident we would give City a really good game today - we have made St Mary's a really difficult place to visit again. There's now a real spring in my step when I enter through the turnstile and I ****ing love it.
Not just this game, Os. He's not quick enough in body or mind to really be a consistently good player for us. Who knows if Covid affected him? Anyhow, now isn't the time for negatives. He just frustrated me a bit today, and showed how effective Redders was in the first half.
