Brilliant mate. The illegal raves were far superior to the super clubs that came after. I used to go to The Theatre Factory in Dalston when it was an abandoned factory and got squatted for loads of trance and acid do’s. Great times
Yeah infinitely better. Went to about 10 with Spiral Tribe, absolutely mind bending all of them. The Camelford one was the first and was the longest and best, closely followed by Stroud and Leatherhead. They moved them indoors because of the police presence and unhappy farmers lol. Some of the warehouse ones were good but nothing could replicate the outdoor ones, the amount of tents I accidently wandered into full of hippies offering me microdots I lost count of . Let's just say I don't have mushrooms with my full English anymore
The band ? Had to look them up but doesn’t ring any bells. I was well into the Psy/Goa Trance scene back in the day….Pendragon, Return to the Source and Escape from Samsara we’re my main stays. Throw in the odd free Acid house free Rave and I was a happy boy. Spent a lot of Friday nights at the club behind Kings Cross….trying to remember it’s name
Got it…..Bagleys !!!! Dropped half a pill in there and swore the cables from the mixing decked were snakes
**** me Bagleys lol, yeah some twisted nights in there ! Yeah Dominator and Charlie Says were 2 huge anthems going round early on in the rave scene. Many others too but the minds too addled at the moment
I saw him at T in the Park back in 2001 - admittedly I was off my face, but seem to remember he was quite good
Just looked it up…it was V97 that I saw him…..to be fair I was only there for The Prodigy. The Foo Fighters were there as well but I can’t have been that impressed as I can’t remember anything about them. But I do remember the shock when my mate told me the lead singer of Placebo was a bloke called Brian….I thought he was a she.
Placebo - another great band. I've seen Foos a few times, but first time was Glastonbury in 98....England were playing Columbia in the World Cup so they erected a huge screen in a field, and about 30,000 of us went to watch the game. It pissed down the whole match (it was one of the wettest Glastonburys on record) but England won so we all traipsed back to the main stage singing Three Lions, right into the middle of Grohls set - there must've been about 500 people watching him up til then. He stopped playing, shouted out "where have all you guys been" then carried on!!
@Hammersmith reborn This was a classic night from Pendragon. Might be 22 years ago but still remember my mate going in white jeans, dropping a cap of MDMA he bought in there and having to sit down in the dirty muddy floor…..looked like he’d **** himself I miss those days
Ok, not really Saturday night listening on the back of that brilliant result today, but heard this earlier and thought it very powerful - defo not for.the feint hearted A big middle finger to the xenophobes
