DLC is the only one I’d take from Everton. Richarlison is good but I do think he’s also overrated, wouldn’t pay more than £40m for him, couldn’t believe when Barca once offered close to £100m. Plus he’s also a whiny little prick and the biggest diver in world football. Doucoure a year or two ago definitely, don’t really see a spot for him now though. He’d just be vying with Winks to get in when Hojbjerg/ Skipp are out and I’d rather we go for a player who’d get in the XI.
The youngster, Anthony Gordon looks a prospect but I doubt that Conte wants any players who will take time to reach their potential.
Bayern tried to sign him a few years ago. You can see why. Everton's league form: LLLDLLLWLDLLL. That one win? Arsenal! We were one of the three draws, though. ****'s sake.
Looks like an exciting MOTD so far... as I write one goal in four games ... and two goals in the minute after I wrote this!
This is why people moan (rightly) about it. You just know a dodgy offside at Old Trafford in injury time will always go Utd’s way though
That's a disgrace. Not subject to anything like the scrutiny we've seen for other 'offsides', such as the Kane one. I think we can expect outrage from the pundits. No not really.
Have you seen the one with the lines drawn? Well onside. He isn't leaning as far as Kane was. They have a proper process for this and I don’t think it is biased in any way.
I've seen several. One of them was just wrong and it's being circulated a lot. I'm sure they'll glance at it later on MOTD and we'll get a better idea. The speed of the check was nowhere near normal, though.
Sky Sports showed one they claimed the PL had sent them. Obviously clear on sides are going to be quicker. If I thought there was intentional bias from referees or VAR then it would barely be worth watching matches. There is obviously going to be some bias on matters of opinion but line decisions all look OK to me.
This also relies on the footage being frozen at the exact time Martial plays the ball. Take this forward one frame and he's clearly offside, take it back a frame and he's onside. When the margins are so tight, who has the definitive answer? How can any official overturn an on field decision based on this evidence? It's like DRS in cricket for lbw; that would be umpire's call all day long. VAR should effectively be the same. The difference is that in cricket, decisions are generally accepted.
I've said before that to be given offside you need to be offside in both frames either side of the frozen one. This decision was 100% right.
