These games are why we should always want to be in the Premiership. We all know about the downside to the PL but you just wouldn't get this excitement in the lower leagues. We know our place but just now and again we can upset the odds, as we have done on a number of occasions. It's more than likely we are going to get tanked but we play some nice stuff at times and I'm looking forward to it. In the event of another 9-0 I reserve the right to retract the above.
Not looking forward to this at all. It’ll be freezing cold, dark, a total mismatch, and a long drive back to London after the game. Gods of football, please take note and surprise me.
It's hard to ever be confident against Man City, especially with the form they are on. But I can't help but feel we are going to give them a hell of a game and nick a point. I'm going 1-1
I hope we play 4-3-3 today I think it will work better v City 2 centre backs working together rather than 3 losing track of each other Oriel ready to drop back when needed 3 in midfield so we don’t get dominated there Stu and Redders working the wings pressing when appropriate and transitioning defence to attack Broja keeping their defence deeper or getting behind and past them if they get too far forward COYR
Interesting listening to the city preview. I do like Pep, seems to say it as it is. I’m not surprised he likes Ralph. He talks about his experience and education in Germany, and why the managers are good. Some really strange questions put to him though about his future etc.
Well, I can actually see us getting something today. Last night when I filled up the dishwasher with the day's stuff, I thought no way will I win this tomorrow morning due to the odd assortment of pots, pans and plates we had dirtied during the day - only two of us but we had totally different meals (Mrs No7 is a veggie) and I also did a roast chicken for the dogs. Pans and pots to put away everywhere as well as cups and cutlery. This morning I woke up and thought to myself in the style of JFK on September 12th 1962: “We choose to empty this dishwasher in this morning and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organise and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.” Just like Armstrong & co in July 1969 I did it. Like Armstrong I was running out of time just before the end, but I did it. 2-1 Saints. Keeping with the JFK/Moon analogy, both goals by.....Armstrong & Armstrong.
[QUOTE="thereisonlyoneno7, post: 15539110, member: 1006502..... and I also did a roast chicken for the dogs.[/QUOTE] I dream of eating roast chicken but most of my money now goes on staying warm. I am truly pissed of with watching the telly in an old army great coat which I later use as a cover on my bed..
Oriel's already done it, can walk on water, but has never walked on the moon https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/11149597/manchester-city-2-1-southampton
I stood to attention and saluted my James Ward-Prowse pyjamas while I read that. That should be read to the team just before kick off.
I just love games like these, we are under no pressure to get 3 points and I fully expect us to lose so anything we get is a bonus. Go out and see what happens lads.
I don’t worry about losing games to Man City, but do worry about being beaten heavily, which is why I hate shipping early goals. Keep it tight Saints.
Better to be brave against City within reason. We have enough quality to get something with a it of luck too.
