Completely agree, just what I was thinking. He’s better in that central role back to goal with Pukki hanging in around him. The first half he was bullied a bit.
I thought PLM played well, Watford we’re moving around well and McLean was losing his man meaning that PLM wa Ah in to cover 2. He gets involved in challenges and presses the ball
Central midfield feels like the problem area right now, so it's great that Normann, Gilmour, Rupp should all come back into contention for the Wolves cup game in 15 days time. We've got a big break now, and whilst it could disrupt momentum, getting those players and hopefully Krul back would be a massive boost. Feels like everyone is going to be keen to work hard at Colney, not only to build on these results, but there's also a clear first XI/system emerging for the first time under Smith. It's going to take hard work from Normann, Gilmour, Rupp, McLean, Sorensen, Lees-Melou, Cantwell (lol) to make a place in that side their own.
