Just our luck that Dennis is fortunate to get away with just a yellow, then McLean gets booked for nothing immediately after. Dennis vs our full-backs is causing real issues at the moment. Need to figure out a solution there.

I noticed this too and it’s what I worried about when I saw the substitution. From my observation Sorensen gets a lot closer to the man on the ball to close them down asked pressurise them, McLean seems to retreat to cover balls in behind him instead giving Watford more time on the ball to pick a pass. McLean needs to step up
God, it's a long time since I saw a game as ugly as this. I hate everything about Watford. They are a bunch of thugs, turn games into a war, and depend on a touch of class from Pedro or Sarr. Looking worrying now, isn't it? As DH said above, since Sorensen went off our midfield has disappeared. Maybe it would have happened anyway as Watford got into the game.
Sissoko misses the best chance of the half just before half time. Feels like Watford have figured us out. We're too weak in the centre and vulnerable out wide. Curious if we change anything at half time. We've not got a midfielder available to strengthen there...maybe Sargent for Kabak/Byram and play 3-5-2? Struggling with a possible solution. PLM is going missing in midfield, defensively he's offering little, frequently failing to track runners, and when he gets the ball he's being pressed and forced to go back to CBs or long.
Horrible game to watch. We looked good for the first ten-fifteen minutes, but it was mostly long balls and disrupting, we really don’t offer any creativity. Brandon Williams is really struggling, we lost all ability to retain the ball in midfield when Sorenson went off. Mike Dean as usual has been appallingly bad, no consistency. Watford should have had two yellows in the first five minutes, let alone the borderline red Dennis. The subsequent dive by Dennis in the box was a joke. Aarons not looking very fit either. Rashica’s decision making isn’t great today. All round need a rocket up their arses right now. Would quite like to see Placheta on early to try to stretch Watford deeper and give us more time in midfield. The trouble with our structured formation is we just haven’t got any movement so we’re so predictable to defend against, and yet not exactly rock solid defensively. Need to be on toes, putting pressure on Watford players.
I actually think he’s ok, not great, but ok as a further forward midfielder - gets in good positions, has a decent shot. The problem is that in the 4-4-2 we have, he’s needed to help our defensively and he doesn’t have the discipline or the awareness, gets rolled too easily.
