Yeah I'm one of the babies of the board, mate. A big, balding, bearded, beer-bellied 32 year old baby!
On an actual transfer note, looks like Traore will be a Spurs player soon. Loads of reports claiming a deal is close... please log in to view this image
In The Glory Game, Cyril said that his brother was much the better player of the two brothers. Wolves kept his registration until well after he was likely to have retired, probably in the hope that he'd rethink the 'god' thing and come back to them. As you will very well know, but others may not, Billy Bragg wrote a song about him... "He scores goals, On a Saturday, He saves souls, On a Sunday"
I wouldn't be surprised if he does end up back at Wolves. Sounds like we're gonna pay £20m for Traore (£10m too much in my opinion), so if we can get about £10m for Doherty it'll ease the pain of spending actual money on Traore I guess.
Does Lloris get one of the increasingly rare testimonials, then? Joined on August 31st 2012 for €10m + €5m in add-ons and a 20% sell on for Lyon. They must be pissed that they'll never receive anything for that!
Suggestions from a number of sources that we might be looking to sign CB, Diego Carlos from Sevilla for circa £30m. Our experiences with Brazilian defenders have yet to prove very successful, maybe this one's different? His reported penchant for incurring penalties and going to ground a lot, are a bit of a worry but this guy has something about him - good athleticism, strong, very decent in the air, comfortable on the ball and can pass very well. He's predominantly right footed but he's probably going to get to play on the left a fair bit. With Conte's coaching, he could fit the bill nicely.
Apparently looking to get Tanguy, Dele and Tanganga loans. You’d imagine the first two are more likely to be goodbyes, with Tanganga getting the chance to prove himself and develop with a view to potentially coming back.
I have no idea what credibility Football Insider has, but... https://www.footballinsider247.com/...5m-traore-fee-with-wolves-after-breakthrough/
I think the Tanganga deal is likely to include an option or obligation to buy. Will be a shame in a way if he does go permanently, I think the 18 or so months where he got injuries and lack of game time really halted a promising start for him. Was looking so solid in his early games but been really clumsy of late and it’s hard to see him staying in the XI once Romero returns and potentially another CB joins.
He's a little like a beefed up Lennon. Sheer speed gets me off my seat every time and he does that. Hopefully playing with Kane, Son etc he won't have to do much for the assist.
I really hope I’m wrong but I don’t see why the club want him and have been after him for so long. Other than being beefed up and rapid, I don’t recall him doing anything great for Villa, Boro or Wolves. I trust Conte but don’t think it’s a Conte signing.
