King and Lloris in the same video… too much legendary sauce.

Couple of remarks in Hugo's statement make it pretty clear that Gollini is gone at the end of the season.

Sorry ignore me. He was talking about his successor as captain, not in goal.

Great news Hugo has signed for another 2 years, he has been excellent and earned it. We would not find a better GK without spending big money that is better spent elsewhere. Lloris is one of the PL`s best goalkeepers, under rated by the media and if he was playing for a club from the Northwest that wears a red shirt, he would be lauded as the leagues best.

I quite like the fact he's been underrated throughout most of his career, keeps the limelight off him which may help keeping the vultures away.

Just wish Modric and Bale were underrated at the time...

Certainly up there, but mine would be Chris Hughton, who was also the best RB I've seen!

Our captain? You would never know from the number of times that commentators and pundits keep referring to Kane as the captain.

I agree...but I don't think DH was born when Chrissy played for us.

That is very sad, particularly given the age I think I am. And my mental age. Best not check the passport, eh?

Got to chuck Cyril Knowles into the mix, admittedly I was very young and only ever saw him in televised highlights but he appeared to the young me to have been a very good full back.

Yeah, born in '89 and Hughton left a year later. Heard many a good thing about him though, as well as a few archive footage matches.

I saw him from '69 until he left in '75. He was a really, really good player and from what I've been told, probably should have been in the England squad for '66...but Chrissy's just slightly ahead for me...even if only because my memories of him are stronger.

He played for years on his wrong side. You simply couldn't tell. Very quick. Ran for the whole game. Great tackler. Dogged as hell. Can't ever recall him making a mistake. He could play as a modern WB, no problem at all. Like many WB's, he started as a winger and his attacking play was very good.

I missed a lot of these players. Turned 29 yesterday…colossally hungover today but between Stevie and Hugo I had the best presents either side of the day.

I had no real ‘Spurs education’ growing up so it’s always great to hear about the players before my time on here. Cheers all <cheers>

Happy Birthday Huddlefro, glad to hear you celebrated
Cyril Knowles was a powerful left back and was very useful crossing and at dead ball situations, could be said he was our first wingback in the modern sense along with Joe Kinnear on the right wing and he never got the recognition he deserved at the time , also had the nice one Cyril chant which came from a bread TV advert , Wonderloaf if I remember correctly
He had a brother Peter who played for Wolves as a striker who jacked it in to devote his time to become a Jehovah witness

No, seriously, why aren't we all over Julian Alvarez? £17m release clause, can play up front or on the wing, and just come off a monster season in Argentina

I'm far from the 'oldies' here but dier and Huddlefro, wow you make me feel old. How can you not have watched the likes of Cyril and Chris?
Next you'll tell me you never watched big Pat in goal!
