The 51st state with Meatloaf , great film imho . Will watch it again this afternoon in memory of the big man .
Don't know about 10, your luvscale is a bit off but cracking film I agree, rewatched it myself recently.
It's a 10 for me. Can't fault it and it's just about as good a film can get. Also checked, J.K. Simmons did win an Oscar for it
J.K. Simmons is quite underrated despite being in so many films. There are quite a few others, so who do people think are underrated? Liev Schreiber I always thought never got enough credit. Sam Rockwell gets mentioned a bit but not someone who gets a lot of media attention. Brendon Gleeson Mark Strong
Just finished After Life, gotta agree with Ginge and Gessa - very, very good. Mixture of brilliant and brutal comedy but also hits very deep. 8.8/10
There are very few films that deserve a 10. Whiplash isn't one of them. Can't remember what I gave it when I watched it a few years back. Terrific film but a 8.5/9 at best. Fact!
It's subjective, so no not a fact. Nowt to do with few or many either. Like with anything, 0 is ****e and 10 is the best of its kind. That's just the way it is.
Tbf it wasn't even the best film of that year which was actually a very good year for films. Birdman won the Oscar for best picture but, imho, The Grand Budapest Hotel was the best of the lot.
I don't judge it by the year. It's based solely on watching the film itself. Or by the Oscars eithers. Plenty of howlers over the years there. On a sidenote, Grand Budapest is a very good film but overrated imo
