Bud, I don't think any of us thought, once the club was bought, that we'd be facing the prospect of playing the rest of the season with Shelvey and Lascelles in the starting line up and Hendrick, Gayle and the other horrendous players on the bench. They could have negotiated. Instead they just went straight in with the release clause. I don’t know that for a fact though. But we do look like mugs for paying 25m.
