The best news! We must try to keep our top players wherever we end up. Just need another 2 defenders, Coulsen clearly long term injury.

I’d be interested to know how much we paid for him (doubt it was anywhere near £3million Brighton were asking).

    150k, I think.

think he’s a brilliant signing for us; young, motivated, intelligent yet experienced and a proven winner. I’m sure his distribution can be coached and not prove an issue certainly at L1 level.

its also a good example of how loans are a perfectly good idea for achieving squad improvement. Without the loan he’s not have got a feel for being at the club and likely would have felt far less inclined to come here.

Great signing, from what I've seen he's the best Goalkeeper we've had in a long time, I'd go as far back as Neil Alexander....Bart was a very good Goalkeeper but it was more about shot stopping, I feel Walton has more of a presence and there's there's bit more to his game.

You wouldn't believe it though given what the Blackburn fans think of him

Never rated Alexander. No coincidence that we haven’t had a stable number one for the last 20 years. In that time you can count on one hand the notable short term keepers at the club.

He commands the area, gives players confidence and has made some spectacular saves.
Keeping this top keeper will enable us to keep other players, and attract a few new signings. 3 keeps!
As others have said, he clearly likes Ipswich, and we like him!
