Comon lads,get yourselves on the Man Utd board and give them some advice on how to get over a right good stuffing on your home patch to your nearest rivals. They must be going through a terrible time now so comon,show em some love.
Pretty similar situation though isn't it?? I mean the rivalry One has the great history and the other just doesn't compare!! But i geuss as you'd say its all about the present.
Sorry Crowey, I won't use great, what word shall i use?? Good?? or should I just say better than yours?? I am not for one minute comparing us to Man Utd in terms of their history, that is just plain ridiculous or really comparing you with Man City's history because that would be just plain ridiculous aswell. I'm just saying the situations are similar, the thrashing of the rival team with by far the worse history(is that better?), who are better than them currently but for how long.....?? Anyway we do have a great history. Winning the F.A cup, winning the top league, winning the UEFA cup, producing 2 of the best England managers, having an unbeaten home record in Europe and considering the the amount of games we've played in Europe and the opposition, I would say that is a great history for a club of our size. I'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot, you'd be saying the same thing.
touch of sarcasm there maybe crowey, your on these boards enough for people to tell you. You know what I mean, you come on here enough and have a bit of "banter", whereby you remind us your doing well in the league above us, its all about the present and then we bring up how good our past is compared to yours, i'm sure you get the drift, I've certainly heard it enough times!!
I'd just like to point out that Italy was the home to the Roman Empire who where 'great' but nobody claims Italy to be a world superpower nowadays, do they?
Thanks for pointing that out Marsupial, it really adds to this conversation. I do love this 1st class banter with you guys, it makes my life worth living, its so witty!! But i do like the comparison with the roman empire. I think our rivalry is more like the comparison between the Welsh(Norwich) and English(Ipswich) Rugby teams. Wales are better than England currently but England will always have better history than Wales and in time the rightful heirachy will be once more, oh and the Welsh hate the English, they have a chip on their shoulder because of Englands history, now that does sound more familiar!!!
