It would've been best for us if he wasn't, as that would've lit a fire under him Anyway, let's ready the No **** Sherlock thread for when he inevitably gets nobbled...
Jonathan Moss is referee tonight , remind me what **** up did he make last time he officiated in one of our games ?
He's reffed three of our matches this season: Palace (A), Brentford (H) and Palace (H). Failed to send Zaha off for grabbing Tanganga by the throat in the first one, then sent our man off. Sent Zaha off for throwing Sanchez to the ground in the third. Basically did nothing in the middle game. No cards for either side.
That’s a Nuno type of selection. Not happy with that midfield one bit to be honest. As one of the comments underneath said: “that midfield is dryer than a non-buttered bit of bread”.
Not a Nuno selection, a Nuno reaction Nuno overreacting to a couple of injuries led to us setting up so defensively against Palace and it all fell apart from there, and now we're overreacting to Son's absence when we could easily line up with the same formation with given Bryan a run of games as a LW to see if he can step up instead of the midfield three who, let;s be honest, are too similar in style of play that it becomes easier to nullify our midfield
I think we will go full Spursy tonight, think Daka will be too quick for our defenders, and we won't create anywhere near enough chances, I was quite hopeful when it was said that they were so short of players, but thats still a pretty good side and they are good at home and we are not great away.
Wont be throwing himself to the floor for a change, but I am sure they will have another diver lined up
The Watford, Morcombe and two Chelsea performances were all woeful...maybe the new signings will make a difference
Ally Gold had Bergwijn starting ahead of Winks. If those are the the only options, I'm going with Conte...but, **** me, we need to do some transfer business...soon!
Where is the creativity in that line up? His hands are tied with injuries etc but Conte has not impressed recently
Realistically they aren't tied, as we can still play the 343 formation as before but with Bryan starting in Son's place Changing the entire formation due to missing one player is an overreaction, as demonstrated in every game we've played 532 where we've been hamstrung by our WBs being exposed yet they have to do two jobs as they have to make up for neither winger being on the pitch
I think this defensive line up is also due to Dier and Romero being missing as well as Son being missing. I’m not overly annoyed at Gil not playing as he hasn’t shown much from what I’ve seen.
He is young player in a new league, this was am opportunity to play him (or Bergwijn) on their preferred side rather than playing 3 central midfielders who have very similar attributes, so for me and the balance of the team this would have been my preferred option, but who am I to argue with a man whose management CV is a bit better than mine.
Not really on the verge just yet. We rejected Ajax’s bid, that was before they sold Neres too so I’d imagine a new bid is due between now and the 31st.
I'm reckoning that Conte's intending to keep it tight in the first half, by not leaving the midfield open and our 'defence' exposed and try to win it in the second...whether it works, is a completely different matter.
Yeah keep it tight for the first hour and then make changes. My concern with that is that I don’t see anyone on the bench that can win a game
