Does he actually have a contract with the club?

Possibly a youth contract. Supposed to be a potentially top keeper

No but its not really rocket science either. It may of course be coincidence that they have moved on Barton, Nolan, Harper and tried to move on Smith for a free. They were all part of the players committee under Hughton. Personally though I think he does want him out, but I don't think it would have made any difference anyway, because he was going to play 2nd fiddle regardless. We aren't big enough to hold back one of the worlds best keepers in the future. Harper is earning a pretty penny and they'll have no intention of paying him good money to sit tight. Pretty sure Simpson will go to based on his Twitter comments and complaints about a contract. There's a theme here, all of those mentioned have been part of a players committee, and all have left after breakdown in contract talks. I don't think you can just ignore that, and I think its pretty naive to think a man of Ashleys stature will not hold grudges. He will and he can because he can afford to.

Yeah, hasn't he recently been called up as a reserve goalkeeper for England under 8s or something too? Promising, having him and Alnwick Called up.

That shirt makes him look obese! Solid distribution from him so far though.

Don't think it was the best keeping from Harper. Positioning was terrible, should have got back to the middle of the goal.

What's happened to Brighton? The wheels have really come off in the last 5-6 weeks.

    They were flying in August/September.

Hull City syndrome. Setting in a little earlier than we expected, admittedly.

If you were trying to trim the wage bill would YOU want to be held to ransom?
Playing devil's advocate, we frequently complain that players in the modern game have too much power in negotiations.

Yes and then Brighton win the ball back from the kick off and win 2-1.
