that reason probably being an organised online voting cartel of Leeds fans. I love kp, he’s a fantastic footballer. Other than the Croatia game, which led to media hyperbole I actually thought he was quiet for England due to being played out of position… and only flourished in games when rice went off and he reverted to quarterback. I think rice is a terrific footballer too. neither of which diverts from the main point which is that £30m is derisory if you were to believe such a bid had been made.
So Leeds fans. Would you blame Phillips if he left for champions league football? I don’t think he’ll go this window and may not in the summer either but hey, I’ll go first. He stayed to get us promoted and established in the Prem. Champions league and competing for honours is the top of your profession as a footballer and if you want to keep players like Phillips you have to be dining at the top table. I’d be disappointed, because he’s integral to how we play - but providing the club gets a fair market rate for him to reinvest, I’d be fine with it/him. Can’t blame someone for wanting to compete for trophies and play at the highest level.
We have been quoted as following the Leicester model. They sold high value players and still had a decent club. So yes i would wish him well and if he need champs league then he should avoid man utd (he won't go to them anyway). He has got to be above 50 million. But we need to spend now because as soon as clubs know we got a wedge prices will shoot up.
Last I heard Kalvin wanted to sign a contract extension. I understand the club needing to buy, improve, sell at a profit. However with regards to Phillips I think he is a local lad who loves the club and the next 5 or 6 years should be spent building a team around him if he wants to stay. The players like Raphinha, Dramah, Roberts, Rodrigo, Firpo, aren't here to settle down. It's simply a job to them. These are the lads to sell if we can for funds.
Joelinton cost zebras 40 million if you go of that valuation and countless others that are overpriced.....kal would be about half of sheikh mactoons oil fields should he decide to just go for the spondooleys, I don't think he will go yet tbh, perhaps he will see what el loco is up to first
Evening All Firstly **** Burnley... I hope they do get relegated and which idiot at Turf Moor thought it was a fantastic idea to sell Wood to Newcastle? They've sealed their own fate. If somebody is stupid enough to pay £15 million for Roberts then thank god. Not even Steve Bruce was that stupid to bid that much and I read he bid £9 million for him. On to Arronson... I get the feeling this one isn't going to go through. I'm sick to death of being linked with every player and their dog. I'm still surprised we still haven't signed anyone and I'm getting this fear we're gonna be pushing it to deadline day.
Not heard much about him until this week then had a look but thought nothing would come of it, even if it were true but now looks like this is a real chase and Red Bull be doubling their money. Also a no brainer for Leeds as the US fans will pay for him in shirt sales. He is also reputed to be the best player in the USA team? Only 21yo too and plays anywhere in the middle. Plenty of goals and assists in the International team with a goal in every 3 starts 36 games for RBS and 6 goals and plenty of assists. I hope this one happens, he looks like r kind of player
Seems this story has been around since December, would suit the 49ers, looks like a Klich replacement. Will RB want to deal with us tho?
I let my guard down tonight & decided to watch a clip of Women's football for the first time since Not the Nine O'clock News introduced the sport to us. You couldn't make it up .....
Popey talking about it, Smythy and Phil Hay plus Cross and a few more. I believe it when Fabrizio Romano says “Here we go” He does look like a box of energy juice though with some real high octane performances
