It feels a bit sad, more so in the Prem that you hope when in the bottom four that your rivals slip up so you can avoid relegation and in the top four you pray your rivals slip up so you can win the title
It may not be cancelled but if it is, Burnley are going to put themselves under tremendous pressure similar to Rotherham in the Championship last year. I'm even surprised they asked tbh.
True although you can still get COVID - and I doubt that many have really got it. Arsenal had TWO cases of COVID. Rest were injuries and call ups etc. I think that is the issue. I suspect some haven't adhered to all the required guidelines - I mean the Government of this country haven't!
Premier League are taking their time over whether or not to postpone. How hard can it be to make the decision?
I know, play them now when we are at almost full strength and they are at their bare bones without any strikers or in a few weeks when we could both be at full strength It could be a ploy by Burnley to disrupt our preparations knowing it won't be postponed Dear me how could I possibly think that sort of thing goes on the best league on the planet
Would the team have already travelled up there? Normally it is an evening flight and an overnight stay.
I can understand games being called off because of injuries and Covid but don't think international call ups should be taken into consideration Mark. If a club chooses to pack their ranks with internationals stolen from the rest of the World then it's fair they pay the penalty at times like this.
I think I will put in a claim to have this Match Day thread as having the most posts for a game that maybe will not be played.
Clearly there are discussions and arguments going on. Will the league cave in or force the match on? I think they are in the same position we were when we played West Ham.
Oh well . Least it gives some rest before the big game on Friday . https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/19853592.watford-burnley-postponed-premier-league/
