The government has been claiming that it will “follow the science” since the start but “the science” in this instance is nothing of the sort. When omicron came along, the doomsayers were predicting thousands of deaths a day yet there are not even thousands of people in hospital. Actual evidence of omicron from South Africa showed that whilst being more transmissible it was less severe than the previous variants.

In this regard the government was right before Christmas to ignore the lockdown fanatics and keep England open while the crazed Lefties in Scotland, Wales and London overreacted using their devolved powers.

On the local BBC news on Friday they had a Professor from SAGE trying to argue that we needed to keep up with more restrictions and she went pretty much unchallenged by the presenter.

If I were tipping losers on Sky Sports Racing every day for a couple of years then I would surely have been handed my P45 long ago, so how come these clowns are still getting their six figure salaries?

That’s pretty much what Marx and Engels came up with in the 19th century. If you’re looking for a country that matches this definition, your search won’t take you to northern Europe. The simple fact is that Scandinavian countries are not, by any reasonable definition, socialist.


In 2015, in fact, the Prime Minister of Denmark, in a lecture at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, addressed the issue directly.

I know that some people in the US associate the Nordic model with some sort of socialism. Therefore, I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy.
