I never expected anything other than a loss and possibly a bartering, move on and try not to allow the result to affect confidence. I haven’t seen the game so it’s difficult to comment, but it seems Vyner again was poor. When we can it seems obvious we need to upgrade and move him on.

Very easy to blame just Vyner, but, Kalas, Vyner, O'Leary and the midfield offered no protection to our goal in the first half, and all of them collectivley were at fault for most of the goals

As I already mentioned I refuse to knock our team over this game there is no point, as a team for what ever reason they are streets ahead of us, they played us off of the park, we because of our circumstances have to strive harder, fight for our survival and retain our status, our owner has become a bit hardnosed, realistic and stopped the big spend, we are restricted and can only finance transfer activity if we raise funds by selling some of our assets.

Money talks and we haven't got any, it's no good blaming individuals in my mind, life is tough, that's the way it is, we've just got to cope and get on with it, come the end of the season decisions can be made, blame can be cast and a way forward created, I just hope we survive, if we end up 21st I don't care at least we will still be a Championship side.

I agree there are teams, Fulham are one such team, that are streets ahead of us due to parachute payments, and the lack of income due to Covid, I’m not sure our owner has become hard nosed, I think it’s more a case of having no choice. Plenty of other teams are in a similar situation to us and those are the teams we have to compete with, and ensure at least three are below us. The EFL are going to have to make a decision re FFP taking into account clubs having no income/restricted income, then we will see how ‘hard nosed’, or not our owner is and whether he’s prepared to put his hand in his pocket or not.

If I can just add, it's not a criticism of SL, times are hard, it's a fact of life, I did say a bit hardnosed, realistic and stopped the big spend, Gould did say there is some money in the pot, so maybe Nige can have a little spend, could be interesting times.

Isn't that just the problem though? SL wouldn't actually be ALLOWED to bail us out under FFP rules.

I don’t think SL has to worry too much about whether to eat or heat as I’m sure he can mange to do both <laugh><laugh><laugh>

We woke the sleeping tiger in our cup game, as I pointed out earlier, they hammered Reading 7 - 0 and hoped they would be less ferocius with us! It was not to be, as Wiz says streets ahead of us, likely more like a division ahead!!! No Bobby or Joe on the pitch!
Dont think the comment on SL is totally warranted as a negative. He has been rather trusting in the past, ploughed in a lot of money, and has his heart set on his project of a home for Bristol sport. Remember, it was the people of Bristol who set him on the road to being a billionaire. All the pillars and visions since SC have had a flaw ... the end game was confusing! Sacking/terminating LJ was not really the epitome of it was going wrong. It was MA being hell bent on getting the red account to be black which he did 3 accounts ago. THE COST was, whether we accept it or not, selling all of the family silver along with the jewels.
It is easy to say sacking LJ was the answer, and I KNOW he has gone, but statistics show that at certain points the tide came in and washed the castle away! In a normal season a team plays its average throughout .. a few seasons ago I did a data base on [ FOR 3 SEASONS ] where a team got its points from...top middle or top bottom home or away. At the time BCFC languishing in the top half got very few points from teams [when played] were in bottom 8! about half were in top 8! However the point is fixtures are "randomly" spread [ ever noticed how some managers get sack and new one instated as fixtures for a few games look soft! ] well sometimes a team shoots up the table because a run of fixtures are soft, or teams out of form or a couple key players missing!
HULL CITY sold Bowen? and dropped like a stone CITY sold Brownhill and did similar ..jump in MA, covering his ass get rid of LJ! .. Also decides spoilt the ship, time to jump so looked at Ipswich And put dh in charge following the plan .. buy improve bring on sell increase squad worth in value quality and promote from within ... [ also bear in mind covid struck shortly after Brownhill left and LJ sacked! ]
it was what is was and is what it is ... a total screw up NP has a task that takes us back to the day SC DEPARTED.............. TO DATE not doing so well .. his comments and judgements of te first few weeks seem rather flawed ... IMO we do not have a good enough background/backroom staff to get the best from these players ... we need a couple of quality coach's to assist NP [ He is the manager like him or not ] he gets the support ... relegation kick him out not in top 6 or better top 2 in 22/23 revisit situation ....
SL and money limited to what he can do, best he keeps the powder dry for now....

Edit note .........started item before any other replies apologise if overlaps

That was my point, we have no leeway at present due to no income during covid, if the EFL relax the rules to allow for Covid we might.

    this will
be an enigma for EFL. EFL made the choice to continue playing. HAD THEY STOPPED then players would have just turned up for training, played amongst themselves and most of the money spent would have been contracted, not play any players would have furlough and .gov been £bn? worse off and fitness failed or maybe able to maintain fitness at home?
EFL will need [ imo] to get another 1 or 2 years accounts together to work out how to sort the problems. It s a rolling scenario, in 1 or 2 seasons time the worst seasons for all [20/21 ] for non parachute clubs will be "year 1" year 2 will be now and year 3 what transpires 22/23..
liklihood is teams on low budgets [ trying to work within an income of less than 10m - or £15m will lose around normally up to £10m a year worst scenario? so fit in under £39m [ eg is Peterbro ]
imagine taking aside 6 lowest budget clubs in 23/24 along with those that have windfalls of PPP and it leaves 8 clubs all having -£39m penalty and thus minus 12 points. The gamble would be spend a fortune in 22/23 to get into prem! only 3 can
    however 3 will have £40m start maybe another 3 £30m start and 3 potentially £15m start. in 2019/20 7 clubs had PPP 3 x £42m 3 x £35m and Sunderland £15m [ div 1 ]

under normal rules, system, albeit unfair would be "fair" ! .. you know what has to be done and a clue as to how to proceed.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

there was once a company [ bit like the suporters! ] that had a product [ticket money ] that another major company needed , it was unique [ bit like a football club ] however the company needing the product was left high and dry when the company making the product was lost in an earthquake and buried under a landslide ... the major company almost went bankrupt, not its fault, until a replacement was found....
