This comment on the bbc gave me a chuckle "Joelinton looks better the further back you play him. Have you considered putting him in goal?"
I know ALL fanbases have their idiots, but The Mags have somehow decided to go into meltdown today. Well, from the selection of tweets I've saw today, those fans want Howe replaced.... Hmm..... Few weeks left of the window, they could still sign a few decent players, they could still also stay up, but they could also go down, but have a decent squad, bottomless buckets of cash to use, and a manager that knows that level. They'll be okay in the long-term , It's just if their fans, and I guess their owners if its worth it in the short-term.
Newcastle 1-1 Watford "Recruiting in defence remains the priority for the new owners, and as boos met the final whistle, they may hasten their pursuit before a crucial game at Leeds next Saturday."
To be fair they did only have one shot on target in the whole game ... ... despite being at home to a team 'nailed on' for relegation. If Benitez is sacked this weekend, which I expect, Howe will be under more pressure. Burnley are at home to Watford on Tuesday who play Norwich on Friday so Newcastle could easily be bottom. I'd imagine we could see the Rafabanners out at Leeds.
They'll either be bottom or stranded by Friday depending on results. Burnley v Watford Watford v Norwich
I've never thought they would go down . But if Watford win their next 2 games and the skunks lose theirs then I think they'll be goosed. Shame we seem intent on not going up.
Obviously they may still avoid relegation, but it may well go to the wire, im now starting to having major concerns that if they do go down what this will mean to the region as a whole. To help all i understand a front page, followed by centre page article in Chronicle outlinning what this could mean to the region. Following that everyone will be in a strong position to know the best needed steps, we dont know, it maybe that a petition & demonstration outside of Parliament is required in order for the season to start again from the beginning on the grounds of delaying the takeover by the premier league over tv contractual rights has created this issue, if that had made it clear this was the sole issue & they didnt have a problem with owners who are murders, have extremely worrying human rights issues then the takeover would have been completed earlier, meaning signing Chris Woods etc now wouldn't be required as a proper famous number 9 would be in place. Never mind Boris's parties, priorities are needed here & dont think we or the UK as a whole know how hard done by they are having an owner who neglected them so badly as Ashley. Sure supporting evidence from other clubs fans could be used Our help could be needed in these protests etc, remember the good of the region!!! this could have a damaging effect on the levelling up agenda.
