That was so poor, the room they had to run at us was unbelievable, Could easily have been four or five, the defence looked exposed and couldn't handle their pace but their midfield had so much time to place the pass. All this uncertainty dosnt help, losing a player midweek without replacing him shouldn't have to much of an affect but maybe it has. The stadium was flat but didn't have much to cheer. It really was a bad day and this take over needs sorting because we certainly need strenghing.
Stoke were head and shoulders above us. 2 nil flattered us. Too many piss poor performances to mention for us.
Over a third of their starting eleven were playing for us in the Premier League, hardly a surprise that they're better than us. Hell, Joe Allen's on about the same money as our entire starting XI, that's where we are until we get a new owner.
Well maybe some of us can take some commiseration in that Jarrod Bowen scored again today, And then again
We were not at the races today. Stoke outplayed us, much quicker on the break and looked well organised throughout. Clucas is still a very good player and ran the show. Our lack of experience and naivety on the ball was evident today. Several tough games upcoming and we need to bring in new faces with proven championship ability and quickly.
By the time the TO goes through, assuming it does, the window will be closed. I think you know where this is going....... Forest Green..
City were well and truly outplayed today. There were many disappointing aspects but the most frustrating for me was the return to the slow build up with a tendency to look backwards and move so slowly that most "attacks" ended up with the ball at Baxter's feet. The substitutions did add a bit more urgency and at least gave is the chance to miss a couple of sitters.
Just got home, what a **** show, no words of positivity. Truly awful. I bet Stoke won’t feel like they’ve been in a game, didn’t need to get out of 2nd gear. Don’t think their keeper had a save to make, abysmal not to even test the keeper. Only McLoughlin and Baxter came out of that with any credit, although a dodgy start, few nervous moments, Baxter made a few good saves, saved the embarrassment of a worse score line. McCann not absolved of any blame, poor team selection, with the small, sharp nippy Stoke players, t’was never a game to start Thudd. As he pressed, Stoke were away through an open gaping midfield, as per first goal. We desperately missed the defensive Smallwood. After all recent hype of The Honeymonster, this was one to forget, his set pieces/corners just crap. Players just didn’t seem to gel, looked like strangers, body language and bickering each other not good. This was in stark contrast to the Everton performance, on this showing we will be relegation fodder. We desperately need the new owners, some investment, player reinforcement. Surely we can’t be any worse on Wed eve, Grant has certainly got his work cut out, or I fear a right hiding. Last but not least, Happy Birthday John ex Aberdeen.
Stoke are a good side, but they didn't get out first gear today.... it was a training session for them...
I might write to the Guinness people to see if I can claim the simultaneous records of being the tallest midget and shortest giant.
Liked the comment on the article about Midget Gems being renamed. " I used to go out with a midget. Sexy lass. Loved it when she went up on me."
