Reet off out to watch the bairn play. Makes a difference when they're enthusiastic and willing to run through a brick wall for their team mates
I’d honestly ask Keegan to take charge for the rest of the season. He wouldn’t tolerate some of the absolute bollox we have in that squad
Yes and what were the starting points? Was Bruce starting the season? Yes. Was Howe picking up a poisoned chalice that tellingly no manager was interested in? Yes. People are just emotional after the disappointment of the late goal which has caused brain farts and foggy heads about our actual situation. Let’s see what players they can bring in for him. I trust these guys, I think they know the quality we have is bottom three and are trying to change that.
He'd also attack and not try holding on for 40 minutes with a 1 goal lead in a game we simply have to win. 10 minutes aye not 40
I also hadn’t realised that Mark Layland was another mate of Howe. Working with him at Burnley. Howe appears to be just getting the hang back together.
This is all true, but I specifically recall nufc fans saying that this group of players should be performing better under Bruce. Why is it now just the players aren't good enough? I will credit Howe if it improves but right now it's awful so I'll criticise him I feel that's fair
And if you compare Bruce's games this season to the same games last season then they were all worse too! Pointless statistic for Howe. He took over an absolute utter shambles. Far too early to write him off.
I don’t deny Bruce did worse this season. It’s why he was sacked. But Howe seems to be immune from the same level of criticism. Why is that? Honest question. I’m not wumming.
Honest answer - he does get criticism, but he isn't being written off because he hasn't been given enough time yet and any attempt to write him off is a foolish, short-sighted, knee-jerk reaction that is typical of an embarassingly large section of our fanbase. The level of abuse Bruce got was wrong, and it certainly shouldn't be used as the benchmark for future managers when things go wrong.
Mick Martin is right, a lot of the squad were players brought in to help with promotion and to help stabilise once we were up, why we still have them here years later is beyond me…..Lascelles, Hayden, Shelvey, Gayle, Ritchie etc should all have been moved on after year one of being back in the PL
Even PIF don't have enough to keep up with Keegan's spending habits man . I thought I walked past him stood outside the Milburn reception yesterday though so you never know
Yes of course, but I'm just wondering why Bruce was being told he should be getting better out of the very same squad?
