Who says he hasn’t identified the problem areas? We are, by rumours which is all we have, trying to get midfielders in this window. Just because we have bought a full back and a centre forward doesn’t mean we have not also been trying to get a midfielder. Also have to disagree with the only needing 2 CM’s and a LB. Have you seen our CBs? We desperately need one and preferably two CBs. Getting two CMs will not solve the gaping hole in the middle of our defence. Lascelles showed that several times yesterday.
If he had they'd have prioritised it which they didn't. The key area is CM Cms help both ends. Yes w need a cb yes we needed a striker but it's like replacing the bathtub without fitting the pipes
We just need Lascelles and Shelvey as far away from the team as possible now. Replace them two with modern good players and we should see an immediate improvement.
Mainly Bruce’s fault and partially the players Howe has been trying to get them fitter since he came but extremely difficult to do in the middle of the season. The ground work should be the first thing addressed in pre season.
People are definitely making excuses for Howe and it's because they were wrong about Bruce. We lost to Cambridge and Howe has a win =%of less than 10. We created 1 Effort on target yesterday and it was via a calamitous error from Watfords full back Why is Howe allowed to hide behind not having better players yet? Bruce was being told that THIS group of players should be performing better.. Correct? Howe must do better im sorry but he's doing crap.. I'll credit when he's not
I'll get it but the fact is there's an entire thread of me saying I credited Bruce when he's doing well and criticised when he isn't. I doing the same with Howe.. Thats fair and the way it should be. These guys now know they were wrong suggesting that this side should be doing better and anyone would be better than Bruce. They'll now complain when the pundits say I told you so. Howe may be the wrong guy or it's still possible he turns it around, but I think he's already two games away from looking like Christian gross
I don’t know what the answer is. But I honestly thought Howe would do better than he has done. I can’t work out the second half mentality yesterday. He’s more or less said he didn’t understand why the players did what they did. He is even talking about mental scars which to me suggests he’s aware that their mental state is fragile. But then he keeps playing the same two players who I think cause the problem. I don’t understand it anymore.
Leeds away? They're intense and Everton will have a new manager and a new feeling around the dressing room. I think Howe will be replaced by rafa and whether people like it or not I don't care. This side is an absolute shambles
I thought he was a good appointment and his early success at Bournemouth and the way they played was the reason, but I think we all did wonder about the way they went down and his ability with recruitment when he had a few quid there. Unfortunately it would appear he had a fluke early on at Bournemouth and that the real Howe is the guy that took Bournemouth down so pathetically having spent big and on the end of a 4-1 thrashing by Steve Bruce
It’s like asking do you fix the hole in the roof when the foundations are crumbling or vice versa. Both need to be addressed. Sorting one doesn’t sort the other. CM is important and needs addressing but CB is equally important and needs addressing. Bringing in a worldie CM or two won’t solve Schar going missing or huge blunders by Lascelles. Both would appear to have been prioritised and we can only wait and hope further quality additions will be got before this window closes.
We haven't addressed cm and every season it's the same. 1..we concede too many so we need to replace the defenders Or 2.we aren't scoring so we need to replace the attackers There's another option.. And it the guys that help both ends.. Or don't help either in our case
The telling thing for me is the hiring of the old school boys brigade. All new appointments and signings and team Selections to a certain extent have been “connections” of his. Trippier Wood (Burnley) His back room staff (understandably I guess) Fraser (instead of Miggy) Leyland Then you look at Steve Nickson who has been at NUFC for 10 years. He’s done a Sterling job. And Hammond. Has he got a good track record. I don’t know. McParlands connection to Benitez is interesting.
1. We are only half way through the first transfer window for Howe and the New Crew. To early to complain. If you want to criticise Bruce and Ashley for the previous seasons then feel free to fill your boots. 2. Or 3. Address CB and CM and attack. I prefer option 3.
Yep that's the problem and unfortunately when Howe was employed he has games to get us out that situation and everything would've been easier. He failed and now we're looking at building a side for a promotion push.. We'll certainly I'd we lose to Leeds and Everton There's still a tiny bit of hope until those two games are loses I suppose
