The EFL probably saw the paperwork was from the Allams and put it to the bottom of the pile.

I know that's just a joke, but surely if they could they'd process it as quickly as possible to get the Allams out?

It certainly doesn’t seem to be as “done” as some claim, we have no way of knowing what the issues are but it would seem that that the EFL are not happy with aspects of the deal.
Unlikely to be Acun’s background so more than likely the finance side of things…proof of funds or requested more details from his backers??? Who knows.

Alternatively, Man City, Chelsea,Liverpool Man Utd have found out that the backers behind Acun are so rich they are frightened we will get promoted and within a couple of years be dominating the PL and ruling Europe and are putting pressure on the EFL to prevent it. That, of course, is just my theory...

Tbf most other clubs ( not fans but owners etc ) are envious at how well the club is run and the financial position it's in.... I know the usual suspects will fight that to the death and call me xyz but it's just a fact I'm afraid. Even speaking to people who work for/with the efl make the comments that the allams are frustrating to deal with as people, but if more clubs where ran the same as the allams run us then things around the league's would be better

There was an issue with proof of funds a while back, but it was put to bed very quickly.

You do have to give them credit for that, I know it's been said before, but if they had employed a better communicator, and cut out all the silliness towards supporters, they would be leaving with the fan's good wishes. They never really understood how football works and that the fans are an integral part of the whole football culture.

Usual suspect here. It's not that that's entirely untrue, but it's obviously interpreted in a very Allam-friendly way.

Their "running the club sensibly" has just been spending very very little. Doing that will of course mean you're not at risk of ending up in Derby's position. Anyone could decide to do the same, but they don't because it also means you're very likely to get relegated, as we did, and that even if you come back, you'll likely be in a relegation battle again because your level of spending just doesn't allow you to compete. It's completely unsustainable and in the long term would only lead to further gradual decline. The only way out of this gradual decline is to start spending more, which is why need the takeover so badly.

I'm sure it's true that this strategy has made us attractive to buy for someone who's going to invest, but I don't accept that it was necessary for us to put ourselves through this managed decline for such a long and sustained period in order to get to this point.

My husband tells me that some 'glory' his grandad talked about from those days was the 1909/10 season in Div 2 when Hull City finished third on equal points with the second and fourth teams and missed out on promotion to the First Div. on goal average. He said the last few weeks were a mixture of tension and excitement as the battle for the promotion spot was fought.

the sooner it happens the better lot's of speculation whether the efl have the paperwork etc thought the club may have put a statement out to update the fans regarding the takeover all seems to be getting played out through the media

I've read the history of City's very early days in Nick Turners excellent books and we had more success there then we ever had at Boothferry Park. The club suffered a lot of adversity there too especially when the main stand mysteriously burnt down and the club lost everything in the fire. Which also amazes me how and why our history is shoved under the carpet and somehow not recognised in this city. Surely after all this time at least an information board should be in place at the present stadium pointing out where the original Anlaby Road ground was, and in places, still there ? As for Boothferry Park, the biggest stadium in the city in its day, the venue of ALL the big crowds Hull has ever seen, and the place where international matches took place and international players played is remembered not by a new housing estate called 'Boothferry Park' but cop out street names like 'Legends Way' and 'Black and Amber Avenue' or what ever. Not a mention of Hull City anywhere. I've always said peoples ashes were scattered on the Boothferry Park pitch and it is a total disregard to their memory and an insult to all who played, worked and supported our club that the most famous and best sporting venue in this city is ignored in this way.
