Wood has quite a decent record for his last 2 clubs, 1 goal almost every 2 games for Leeds and 1 in 3 at Burnley. Still not worth £25m though and surely Newcastle could have found someone younger and more promising?

They only have 1 actual covid case so the request is to postpone because they have normal injuries and international call ups. Why is this a thing? I understand calling off cos covid outbreak because your not actually allowed to be out (I wonder how many players previously would play if they had a cold?) but asking to postpone just because have injuries and internationals? Getting pathetic. They need to change the rules asap to say if you have 13 players and 1 Gk that don’t have covid then you can play. Even if some of those are then injured, use your under 23s. If we win games in hand they're only six points ahead with half a season to go. Sure, they have a sizable advantage but I've seen leads bigger than that disintegrate many time. Win games in hand and beat them and that's only three points to overturn. Still doable. Definitely they're favourites but four and more years ago everyone would be excited and optimistic if we found ourselves in this position.
