I have to say this season is not representative of his form. He’s been really dodgy. I think he’s decent. I just never agreed with this almost world class idea our fans had. He just seemed to get a free ride for some reason. He’s a good shot stopper (as is Darlow) but not great with his feet and just has a habit of chucking in a few clangers. Always has done. Darlow scares the **** out of me, it’s like he’s been on coke non stop. Jumpy, on the brink of a freak out. Woodman I think has promise but he will defo be leaving now. He’s never had much of a chance, dropped one clanger and has never been seen again. He will be thinking he’s better off heading back to Swansea where he was loved and appreciated.
That’s where your senior pros come in. Problem is ours are ****. Agree about Clark. He can’t play today. So we prob play 4-4-1-1. Joe and Wood might link up well. I honestly can see us winning today which will be a massive result.
I think it’s telling Howe has had a short amount of time and is fully behind a massive influx of players. That tells you he’d rather risk a new side not gelling than continue with what he has. Been professional and tried to say “we’ve got to work with what we’ve got” but all the noise is about bringing in 6 players plus. Basically he thinks he’s been left with a bag of spanner’s. And he’d be right.
And not a single CB in that list so getting one of those in ASAP has to be a priority. Need a half decent spine to the team to move forward...
Those are the two positions I and most of us have been screaming for since Howe took over. I would rather we focused on these positions.
I think they’re trying to get quality. I can’t see any reason other than money that Carlos leaves Sevilla for us. It would be one hell of a signing. Same goes Botman or Badashile. Get any one/two of them and we’ve had a stunning improvement. Centre midfielders wise, we need a Kamara, Haidara, Fofana ASAP.
I want Carlos and Haidara I would be happy with them. I would be happy with any of the names you mention. Botman is the one but I can’t see it happening now. Because of the money.
I think the issue that Howe has playing Anderson or Stephenson is if they do play, they are then eligible to be included in our 13 plus a keeper so less likely to be able to pull another COVID sicky
